VIOLET CITY
Three friends enter Violet City side by side. One girl, SURA NAMIRU has a pichu hanging on her shoulder. Her two friends ROSS and LYLA are walking beside her. Violet City, a city filled with buildings all around them. Sura looks around, her mouth open as stares around her.
"Wow!" Sura exclaims looking around. Ross looks over at her, a smile at his lips.
"Yes."
"Okay, so where's the gym at? I really want to challenge the gym leader for a zephr badge," Sura exclaims shaking her head, her black hair swining with the motion.
"Pi."
Ross points in the direction, saying,
"It's over in this direction."
"Are you sure you're ready for this Sura? I've heard that Falkner's a pretty tough trainer," Lyla spoke up. Sura looks at Lyla, a grin on her face.
"Oh. I think---no, I know I can beat him." Sura said. There's a twinkle in her eyes. Lyla sees this and sighs. She knows that though Sura has been working with her pokemon, Falkner is a formitable gym leader and trainer. She sighs again and smiles at Sura.
"And my pichu agrees with me. We can beat Falkner," Sura is still speaking as Lyla had gone off track in thought.
"All right then. Let's go," Lyla shrugs.
The three are heading for the Violet City gym when for they're stopped by a crowd of people heading for the Pokemon Center.
"Whats this about, I wonder," Lyla asks aloud.
"I don't know. Let's find out," Ross said.
The three makes their way to the front where a police officer stands. She's got blue hair and wearing a policewoman's uniform short skirt high heels. The three approach the officer.
Confused, Sura turns to Lyla and Ross.
"What's this? What's going on?" she asks
"I don't know but lets ask that officer." Ross answers pointing at the woman. "Thats Officer Jenny. She should know what's going on?"
Sura nods as the three makes their way up to her and stopping before her.
"Excuse me, Officer Jenny, can you tell us what's going on?" Sura asks. Officer Jenny turns around facing the three. She scrutinizes them for a long while in silence.
"We've been having some troubles," she begins.
Lyla stares at Officer Jenny in confusion, "Trouble? What kindof trouble, Officer Jenny?"
"Pokemon trainers are being stopped and their pokemon are being hurt or stolen. We still haven't been able to find out who though."
Sura, Ross, and Lyla look at each other in concern.
"Pi pi," Pichu said from its perch atop his place on Sura's shoulder. Officer Jenny looks over at the little pichu then at Sura, "be careful of your pichu."
"Don't worry Officer Jenny I will," Sura answers.
Officer Jenny turns from the three friends to talk with another trainer.
"Well, lets go find the Violet City gym then," Sura exclaims, walking onward.
The three happen to round a corner where they stop.
"What> What is it? Why'd you stop>?" Lyla asks, looking at Sura who's staring ahead of her.
"That." Sura said pointing in front of them. Lyla looks in that directon seeing a type of road block. The road block is nothing more than a large hole filled with water.
"Now who?" Lyla began in question.
"We can always go around it," Sura said and points. "See. Look."
Lyla and Ross both look to see that the hole stops at a corner off to their left. Sura steps forward, in preparation to go around when something goes flying toward the three. It lands about a foot or so away.
"Hey! Who threw that?!" Sura yells. "You could've hurt somebody!"
The three look around for a long time before Sura adds, "lets go."
Lyla and Ross nod as the three friends go around. Suddenly, a WHOOSHING sound is heard followed by a large object. Lyla, Sura, and Ross dive to the sides. Lyla and Ross to the right, Sure with her pichu hanging on, to the left. The smoke clears as Sura and pichu look around.
There in the center is a huge boulder. Lyla and Ross are on the other side.
"Lyla? Ross?! Where are you?!" Sura calls out, hands cupped at her mouth in a pantomine of a megaphone.
There's nothing for a few seconds before Sura and pichu hears Ross' answer. "We're fine. We're on the other side of this boulder!"
Sura moves over to the boulder and says loudly, "hang on! I'll try and get you out!"
She tries pushing the boulder out of the way, her pichu leaping from the girl's shoulder to help. The two are grunting and sweating, trying to move the boulder. But its just too big and heavy for them.
"Sura, you can't. You can to go around. We'll meet you," Ross' voice come to Sura's ears.
"All right," Sura said dubiously. She and pichu backs away from the boulder, turns, and quickly makes their way back the way they came from. In hopes of finding another way around the boulder.
WITH LYLA AND ROSS
From on the other side have moved away from the boulder.
"Come on. Lets go meet up with Sura," Ross said beginning to walk up the street. Lyla nods then begins to follow him.
"Who could've done this, do you know?" Lyla asks as the two are walking.
Ross shakes his head, "I don't know. Violet City has never been plagued with this kind of stuff.... That I know of."
Lyla looks at him. There's suspicion in her eyes now, "you sound as if you know more about Violet City then you're letting on. How's that?"
"This is where I'm from, so I should know," Ross answers on a sigh.
Lyla is shocked, "you never told us that. Why?"
Ross looks at her seeing her hurt look realizing that he should have told them but something had stayed his lips. He had wanted to many times but couldn't.
"I know. And, I---I'm sorry," Ross mumbled. Lyla looks him in the face seeing the guilt therre. Her hurt look is replaced by sympathy as she lays a gentle hand on his should. "Its okay Ross. You had your reasons for not telling."
"Thanks," he said in response to her.
"Now, lets go find a way around this boulder and meet up with Sura," Lyla spoke.
Ross nods, "Yeah. Lets go!"
The two walk on, away from the boulder.
IN THE MEANTIME
Sura and her pichu had passed the Pokemon Center and enters the forest once more.
"I don't know pichu, if this is the way around."
"Pi pi," pichu says from its perch and pointing. Sura continues on.
Sura is moving through the fringes of the forests always keeping in sight of Violet City.
"Don't let it get away!" a voice comes to Sura and pichu's ears, off to the left somewhere.
"Pi?" pichu makes it a question.
"What? What's that pichu?" Sura wonders.
"Pi pi. Pi chu."
"Let's check it out," Sura decides heading in the direction the voice came from.
In a small clearing, Sura and her pichu comes across Team Rocket. They seem to have cornered.... a ponyta. Sura looks at pichu with something akin to shook for ponyta have never been seen around here. Looking closer, Sura notes that the Team Rocket members are ANITA and ALEX. Quickly, the girl hides behind the tree she's closest to and listens to Anita and Alex's plans for ponyta.
"The boss will be so proud of us for bringing him a ponyta," Anita declares. There's a smile lighting her contenance.
"Team Rocket, here. Now why are they here?" Sura whispers from her hiding place.
"Pi pi pi-chu."
Sura nods, "we gotta help that ponyta."
Pichu nods back, "Pi." And jumps from its perch to stand next to Sura. They come out of hiding as Sura says loudly, "you better leave that ponyta alone!"
Team Rocket turns at the sound of her voice to see Sura and pichu. They smile evilly at her.
"You got some trouble!"
"And now make it double!"
"To infect the world with devastation!"
"And get it ready for integration!"
"To trample the way through truth and love!"
"By stomping the might from the stars above!"
"Anita!"
"Alex!"
"Team Rocket! Knocking good out at the speed of light!" Anita and Alex together.
"You better surrender or prepare to fight!"
Their hitmonchan steps forward and strikes its punching pose.
"Hit-Mon--Chan!"
"Ha Ha Ha Ha! If it isn't the twerp and her little rat!" Anita laughs.
"Hey Anita! This is our chance to get that little pichu. And this here ponyta for the boss," Alex responds. He's holding a rope made from some kind of fire proof material on it. Ponyta can't get away.
Anita smiles again at that as she said, "Yeah! Let's go for it. That pichu is way more powerful than normal! The boss would probably give us a big raise."
Sura had heard that. Team Rocket turns to stare at her in malice. It is Anita who speaks up, "hand over that pichu if you know whats good for you!"
Anita tosses a pokeball out, shouting at the same time,
"Go Ryhorn!"
The pokeball opens up revealing the massive rock rhino like pokemon. Sura removes a pokeball also. She tosses the pokeball before her, shouting, "Chikorita! I choose you!"
The pokeball housing Chikorita opens, as a red light comes out. The light touches the ground before Sura and quickly disappears as Chikorita stands in place.
"Chika."
"Ryhorn Take Down attack! Now!" Anita yells.
Ryhorn runs at chikorita intent on squashing it flat. Before Sura now yells out to her pokemon,
"Chikorita! Don't let it reach you and use your vine whip!"
"Chika chika!"
Chikorita dodges ryhorn moving around behind it as vines come out of its side to strike ryhorn numerous times. Ryhorn stops as it feels the attack and bellows in pain before toppling to the side into unconsciousness. Anita's shocked but Sura has more to say as she looks at her pichu.
"Pichu! Thundershock!" she says. Pichu gets down from its perch as its cheek pouches light up.
"Pi----CHUUUUUU!
Lightening, coming from pichu arcs over Anita and Alex who're lit up. Then an explosion that sends them high in the sky and become distant specks in the sky.
"Ahhh! We've blasted off!!!!" Anita and Alex said in unison as they take off.
"All RIGHT!" Sura exclaims a huge smile on her face as she jumps up and down for a little while.
Stopping, she moves over to ponyta. She reaches out for the restraint. Ponyta is watching the girl. It knows that Sura had helped it by battling Team Rocket, but it doesn't know what she would do next. Sura, sensing ponyta's uneasiness stops moving forward. "Easy ponyta. I just want to get the rope off ya and then you'll be free," she mutters to ponyta, one hand slowly reaching for ponyta and the rope about its neck. Ponyta continues to watch as Sura finally removes the rope and steps away from it.
"There you go ponyta. You're free to go."
Ponyta snorts, nuzzling the girl. Sura pushes ponyta away from her protesting," Ponyta! You're free!"
Ponyta shakes its head leaning closer to her.
"You want to stay with me? Is that it, Ponyta?" Sura asks. Ponyta snorts and bobs its head up and down. Sura is shocked as thats replaced by happiness. She hugs the pokemon.
"All right then!"
Sura climbs up on ponyta's back, her pichu hanging on behind Sura as ponyta moves forward.
WITH LYLA AND ROSS
waiting for Sura.
"Sura should be here by now. Where is she?" Lyla wonders looking to Ross who's standing next to her, his eyes watchful. He blinks turning to look at her.
"She'll be here."
"I hope so," Lyla said.
The two continutes to wait and watch.
WITH SURA AND PONYTA
moving through, the two finally step out of the trees. Sura climbs down from ponyta's back and takes up a pokeball.
"Well Ponyta, I gotta put you in a pokeball," she said holding up the pokeball.
Ponyta neigs, shaking its head.
"Pokeball! Go!"
The pokeball is sent toward ponyta. It taps the pokemon then coalesce into a beam, the pokeball sucks ponyta inside then drops to the ground. The red light goes out. Sura steps forward and picks up the pokeball. A smile appears on her face.
"Yes!! I got ponyta!"
"Pi pi."
"Sura!" a voice comes to her ears. Sura turns as Lyla and Ross quickly join her.
"Hey Lyla, Ross! You guys made it," Sura exclaims.
The two stop before Sura.
"You okay Sura?" Lyla asks.
"Yes I'm fine." she replies. "Now let's get that gym badge!"
The three head over to the Violet City Gym.
VIOLET CITY GYM
Sura is facing off against the Violet City Gym Leader, Falkner. There are at least five other people, rooting for the gym leader while Lyla and Ross are for Sura.
"We'll use two pokemon," Falkner said from on the opposite side of Sura. The girl nods.
"All right."
Falkner tosses a pokeball before him, while at the same time shouts, "pidgey! I choose you!"
The pokeball opens revealing pidgey, floating above it.
Now, its Sura's turn who nods to her pichu.
"Pichu, I choose you!"
"Pi pi."
And is ready.
"Pidgey, use your whirlwind!"
"Pidge!"
Pidgey takes to the air and begins to furiously flap its wings generating a funnel shaped burst of concentrated air before sending it toward pichu.
"Pichu dodge it!" Sura yells out.
"Pi."
The whirlwind attack blows off to the side as pichu moves off to the other side.
"Yes! Pichu thundershock! Now!" Sura shouts.
Pichu's cheek pouches crackle as its energy is building.
"Pi! CHUUUUU!"
Lightening flairs hitting Falkner's pidgey dead on. Lit up, pidgey could do nothing. Yet Sura is not finished as she gives her pichu another command,
"Pichu tackle attack!"
"Pi!"
Pichu has a determined look on its face right before tackling the pidgey before it can get back into the air.
"Pidge!!" Pidgey screeched before lapsing into unconsciousness.
"You're good Sura," Falkner nods. He smiles at her before recalling the pidgey and choosing another pokeball. "Let's see how well you are now. Go pidgeotto!"
And releasing his second pokemon. Sura blinks as her pichu returns to the girl's side.
Sura takes a pokeball from her belt of pokeballs and holds it for a few seconds. I hope Sentret here can defeat pidgeotto. Tossing the pokeball before her, "Go Sentret!"
"Ahh, a Sentret. Interesting choice, Sura," Falkner began. "Pidgeotto, Wing Attack!"
"Pidgoo!"
Pidgeotto takes to the air and begins its attack. It strikes sentret who falls over.
"Oh! Sentret!" Sura said in horror, worry over her pokemon.
I've got to think of something. I know!
"Sentret, give it a Sweet kiss!"
"Sen tret!"
The sentret runs toward pidgeotto before leaping up and attacking. Pidgeotto is confused as it lands.
"Sentret, Skull bash!" Sura said.
Sentret rushes toward the confused pidgeotto, glowing brightly.
"Pidgeotto fly!" Falkner commands but pidgeotto is still too confused. Sentret strikes pidgeotto squarely. Pidgeotto lets out a small "Pidgoo!!" before lapsing into unconsciousness.
Sentret returns to Sura's side. Falkner recalls his fainted pokemon as do Sura.
LATER ON
as Sura, Ross, and Lyla are about to leave Violet City but first they once more meet up with Falkner.
"You're a really good pokemon trainer Sura. It shows in handling your pokemon," Falkner began.
"Thanks Falkner. Coming from you thats good. But I've still got a long way to go if I want to become a pokemon master," Sura explains.
"But you're on the right track."
Falkner holds up the zephyr badge for Sura, Ross, and Lyla to see.
"In recognition for your victory, I present you with this badge."
Sura takes one step and takes up the badge. Falkner drops his hand.
"Congradulations Sura!"
"Thanks Falkner," Sura said.
Moving, the three walks away heading for their next gym challenge and next adventure.
