After two days of walking, SURA NAMIIRU enters GABUL TOWN, a small village like town with few buildings. Sura's Pichu is on her backpack looking over the girl's shoulder as she reads the map.
"You know what pichu, I have no idea where we're at. This town's not on the map," Sura answers holding the map first one way then the other.
"Pi?" pichu says. The little pichu looks at Sura as the girl stuffs the map back in her backpack.
"Oh well, lets go. See where we are at least," Sura spoke up beginning to walk forward into the town.
The town is fairly small, only a pokemon center, a pokemon mart and a few buildings; hotels and restaurants and such that is. Sura enters the town looking around, trying to spot some kind sign of some sort letting her know where she is.
Finding none close by, Sura responds, "Well, I guess we head for the pokemon center I saw. It is right next door to the pokemon market.
From on top of her backpack Pichu says, "Pi chu."
Sura heads for the pokemon center.
The pokemon center is a small building as Sura enters. "Hmm, there's the pokemart, right next door. Well, pichu lets go in the pokemon center. Find out where we are."
Pichu nods, "Pi."
Sura stops before the door of the pokemon center. She reaches out a hand to open the door when a loud commotion comes to her ears.
Sura turns her head toward the sound, "What?!"
Her hand still on the doorknob, Sura has turns her head to see what is the commotion.
BOTH SIDE OF THE STREET
Yelling and screaming is heard as a group of men and women each wearing grey and blue coveralls are there. It was them who had been making the commotion. The group have pokeballs in their hands. Then, with Sura watching the pokeballs opens up an assortment of pokemon who begins fighting in the street. Sura stares at this display with disgust.
"Pi--chu?" her pichu rouses the girl from the scene.
"What is that about? Why are those people fighting? It doesn't look like a pokemon battle," she mumbles. Pichu is also staring at the fighting, more like brawling between pokemon in the streets.
"Pi pi."
Sura turns the knob and enters. It opens as Sura enters the pokemon center and closing the door on the sight of fighting outside.
INSIDE THE POKEMON CENTER
There are many young people already inside. Sura and her pichu approach the counter as NURSE JOY looks at them.
"Can I help you?" Nurse Joy asks as Sura stops before the counter.
Sura nods, "Where am I? And what's going on outside? I just saw a bunch of people out there fighting."
Nurse Joy nods then she sighs, "You're in Gobul Town. And outside, there're still at it, I see."
"At what?" Sura asks, confusion writ on her face.
"The Pokemon wannabe trainers...," Nurse Joy begins. Sura is confused even more at this.
"Uh, wannabe pokemon trainers?" she asks.
Nurse Joy looks at Sura before speaking again, "Oh yes. They're trainers all right but all they know is battling. Unfortunately, they are two groups--the Muroka and the Naroka. Two gangs who want to be number one."
"But why are they out there?" Sura asks jerking a thumb pointing outside. The sounds of fighting still going on.
Nurse Joy sighs again, "They fight for control. The right to go on a pokemon journey. And they're always looking for strong pokemon trainers to join them." Nurse Joy looks at Sura and her pichu standing at the girl's side. Nurse Joy also notes the belt of pokeballs. "Be careful they do not recruit you too."
Sura only nods, "Don't worry about me. I care for my pokemon." Listening to the battle sounds before turning back to Nurse Joy, "I'll stay here for the night?"
Nurse Joy only nods as she reenters the wards, going back to her rounds.
Sura moves over to a couch where a green haired woman sits. There's an eevee next to the woman.
Sura sits down, the woman's eevee stares at the girl. Sura's pichu stares at eevee. Sura notes her pichu and the woman's eevee. Then she looks at the woman and swallows her trepidation.
"Hello," Sura began, talking to the woman.
The woman looks at Sura, a smile on her face. "Hello. That's a nice pichu you have. Capable and strong."
"Pi pi chu," pichu said from Sura's lap.
"Thank you. I'm Sura. Sura Namiru from New Bark Town."
The woman's blue eyes look at Sura, weraring blue slacks, a beige colored blouse buttoned up at the front and a red bandana tied about her neck. "I'm Tomoe Taluru.... Also a pokemon trainer. And this is eevee." Indicating the eevee.
Sura smiles, "Hi Eevee."
The eevee barks once before leaping in to the woman's lap again. Tomoe's hand strokes eevee as the pokemon relaxes. Its eyes close. Before Sura or Tomoe can say anything more, the door of the pokemon center slams ope revealing a huge man. He's wearing the coveralls with a large dark blue colored M on the chest.
"Hey! Hey Joy!" he bellows out. His voice reverbrating all around the pokemon center.
Sura's pichu and Tomoe's eevee are startled. Sura takes up her pichu, "easy pichu, its just a loud noice. You don't have to worry about it."
The man had heard Sura's remard and stalks over to her. There's an angry look on his face.
"What you want?! Nobody talks that way round me! Nobody!" he turns slightly behind him. "Deal with this girl!"
Two people wearing the coveralls of the Muroks but with black masks over their mouths and noses. They step forward.
"You deal this girl. Be back at the dogo afterwards," the man said to them.
"Of course," a female voice says.
"Count on it, Boss," the other, a male speaks now.
"See to it." the man said before leaving, deciding not to see Nurse Joy.
The two figures turn to face Sura, their eyes goggle at the sight of the girl in recognition.
The females speaks first, "Well well well, if it isn't the girl with the pichu. So, we meet again."
Sura is confused. "Uh, excuse me? Do I know you?"
They laugh before the female begins again, "You got some trouble!"
"And now make it double!" Alex exclaims.
"To infect the world with devastation!"
"And get it ready for integration!"
"To trample the way for truth and love!"
"By stomping the might from the stars above!"
The two take a pose side by side. Sura listens, rolling her eyes "Great! Them again!" she mutters.
"Anita!"
"Alex!"
"Muroks! Are the place to be!" Anita and Alex say in unison.
"You better surrender or prepare to fight!"
Now, their hitmonchan steps forward striking a punching pose, while at the same time say, "hit--mon--chan!"
A large sweatdrop has appeared at the back of Sura's head. She shakes her head saying,"why are you two here, Team Rocket?"
"We are members of the Muroks gang?" Anita said.
"As our pokemon are the more stronger. Besides, we'll get rich." Alex spoke. He tosses out a pokeball as do Anita.
"Pinsir!"
"Ryhorn!"
Pinsir and ryhorn appears. Trainers move away to the sides, away from the two pokemon.
Sura shakes her head, "Pichu."
"Pi."
Sura also takes out a pokeball and tosses it out, "Chikorita! I choose you!"
"Chika!" Chikorita says on exiting from its pokeball.
"Chikorita vine whip!" Sura directs.
"Pinsir, pin missile!"
"Ryhorn, rock slide!"
Chikorita's vines come out to hit ryhorn who bellows in pain. At the same time, pichu lights up pinsir with its thundershock. The woman Tomoe steps forward, next to Sura.
"Eevee, tackle attack!" Tomoe directs her eevee.
Eevee rushes at pinsir who's still reeling from pichu's attack.
"Chikorita razor leaf!" Sura says as her chikorita lets some leaves drop before sending them at ryhorn. Now ryhorn is in even more pain as it gives another bellow before collapsing into unconsciousness.
In the meantime, with pichu and eevee battling pinsir. Pichu tackles the pinsir as the eevee uses quick attack. Pinsir finally faints as pichu and eevee returns to their trainer's sides.
"Muroks will return you twerp!" Anita shouts. Sura bristles, "Twerp!" she shouts.
"Pichu, lets give Team Rocket a send-off they won't ever forget!"
"Pi--chu." Pichu nods.
"Thundershock!" Sura shouts. Pichu steps forward a bit as its cheek pouches sparkles.
"Piiiii----chuuuuu!"
The little pichu lets loose with a massive thundershock at Anita and Alex. They look a bit crispy as they fled.
"We will be baaaack!!!" Anita and Alex said at the same time as they run away.
Everyone cheers as Nurse Joy approaches Sura.
"You defeated two of the Muroks strongest. Thats impressive," Nurse Joy said.
Sura looks at her, eyes a bit sad as the girl answers, "I wish those two groups could stop fighting. I don't think they understand what a pokemon trainer really means."
Tomoe listens to Sura with something akin to shock. She had no idea that Sura felt as she did about this. Most trainers didn't, at least.
"That is very astute of you, Sura. I had no idea that trainers thought that way," Tomoe spoke. There's a smile on her lips.
Sura's pichu, now being held by Sura looks at Tomoe, "Pi pi pi chu chu."
"Since becoming and watching the trainers with their pokemon, I've always felt that trainers and pokemon alike are partners." Sura begins. "I feel that we both have something to contribute..."
Tomoe and Nurse Joy listens. In shock. "That is so true."Tomoe spoke first. Her eevee cocks its head looking first at Tomoe then to Sure, and back at Tomoe. The eevee then moves over to Sura, nuzzles the girl with Tomoe watching.
"I see you have what it takes to be a pokemon trainer," Tomoe starts. There's a smile on the woman's face. "Why don't you take eevee."
Sura looks over at Tomoe, protesting, "oh! But eevee's yours. I can't take it."
"I want you to. Sura, I won't be able to train eevee as much. But I believe that, with you, eevee will be in good hands." Tomoe explains looking at Sura intently.
The eevee barks once before nuzzling Sura some more. Sura stares, her eyes going soft. She reaches out a hand and hesitantly pets eevee. With a soft purring sound eevee closes its eyes in contentment. Pichu watches and smiles. "I--I guess I could. Yes! You got a deal!"
Tomoe nods smiling, "Excellent!" She nods again "I know you will be a wonderful trainer to eevee."
"If you say so," Sura spoke up.
"I know so."
Tomoe smiles again at the girl as the transfer is made by Nurse Joy. Nurse Joy hands the pokeball housing eevee to Sura, who takes it.
"Here you are," Nurse Joy says, looking over at Tomoe as if seeking her approval. Tomoe nods with a smile.
"Well, I have to return." she said.
"Where are you going?" Sura asks.
"Home."
"Oh. Will I see you again?" Sura asks.
"To be sure, we shall. To be sure,"Tomoe smiles at the girl before leaving the pokemon center. Sura watches. Once Tomoe is gone, Sura turns to Nurse Joy. There are some questions the girl would like answered about those two rival groups.
"Can you tell me where the Muroks and the Narokas are staring at?"
"There's an gym off to the right. Muroks built it and made it their headquarters. The Narokas had done the same to the left of us. Both hopes to succede having their gym become the only official gym here in Gabul Town." Nurse Joy say as she shakes her head. "What are you planning on doing?"
Sura shrugs, "I'm gonna stop them from wrecking this town."
Sura walks out of the pokemon center, stepping outside, her pichu walking beside the girl.
AN ABANDONED GYM
"Well, pichu. Here we go." Sura said as they stood at the door of the gym.
The gym is a large elaborate building, somewhat like a small temple except a large hole on one side of the walls.
"Pi chu pi."
Sura and pichu enters the gym.
INSIDE THE GYM
men and women are all around. Sura and pichu passes by. On looking at them, the girl notices that each and every one of them, Sura notices that each and every one of them had a pokemon and was training them. Sura saw a spearow, a ryhorn, a scyther, and numerous other pokemon.
"Wow pichu. These look pretty strong. Now why would they want to be involved in fighting," Sura murmured to her pichu.
"Pi chu pi pi."
"Halt right there!" a voice speaks, causing Sura to stop in surprise. "What do you want?"
Sura looks up at the tall muscular man with the light brown hair and angry brown eyes. He's wearing the blue coveralls with the dark blue M on the chest. Tists jammed into his side and a Donophan at his side. Sura takes out her pokedex, aiming it at Donophan.
***DONOPHAN, A ROCK POKEMON. IT USES A MIXTURE OF NORMAL AND ROCK MOVES. DONOPHAN IS MOSTLY IMMUNE TO ELECTRIC ATTACKS.***
Sura closes her pokedex and pockets it. Mentally she thinks,
"I say---what do you want??!" the man said in anger. Sura blinks.
"I want to see your leader," But mentally she rolls her eyes, thinking,
The man steps back slightly staring at hte girl, sizing her up before indicating with a hand to follow him. He turns and heads to the back of the gym where that same man Sura had met earlier at the pokemon center was. The two, Sura and her escort enter and stop four paces away.
"Sir, someone to see you," the man said softly. The other man turn and see Sura.
"You?!" he exclaims.
"Sir.... I mean Tonu?" the man asks.
Tonu looks at Sura for a long time before speaking, "what do you want? You wanna join Muroks?"
Sura stares back at Tonu, a thoughtful look on her face, "why would I want to join?"
"You're here, aren't you," Tonu declares still looking at the girl intently.
Sura looks at him before realizing what Tonu is saying. She looks at her pichu before answering, her voice low, "I can't do that."
Tonu is able to hear and stares at the her, "what? What did you say?"
"You're just using pokemon. I won't be a part of it." Sura begins. She looks over at him. "And I won't be a part of it!"
Tonu stares at the girl, so emphatic about pokemon.
"Fine then." he says aloud. "Go Dragonite!"
Tonu's pokemon appears from behind him to stand before Tonu. Sura stares at the dragon pokemon.
"Get 'er dragonite!"
Dragonite moves in toward Sura who's frozen in shock. Pichu steps in front of her, a determined look in its face. Tonu laughs, "you'll never defeat my dragonite with that puny pichu. Dragonite, thunderwave!"
Sura blinks at that point noting Tonu's dragonite about to come at her. And her own pichu's response as it uses agility, tiring out dragonite before unleashing its own thundershock attack.
"Pi chu," said in a satisfied manner and landing beside Sura.
Sura saw the look of concernation on Tonu's face as the girl took up her pich and ran out. "Muroks, get her! Stop her!" Tonu bellows, getting his voice back.
Sura now has to get through the Muroks trainers as they block her exit. Looking around, her eyes dart to the wall.
"Pichu, thundershock that wall!"
"Pi pi chu."
Pichu's cheek pouches light up. Then lightening strikes the wall. Sura runs out of the large opening. The Muroks don't follow.
BACK AT THE POKEMON CENTER
Sura is seated at a table, her pichu beside her. Sura had given her pichu some chow as the pichu is eating. It had been a long time since they returned to the pokemon center.
Sura had run out through the hole in the wall her pichu had made and ran to the pokemon center.
Now she's seated at a table in the pokemon center.
"Oh pichu." she begins. "You know, those two groups make it harder for pokemon trainers. They need to be stopped."
"Pi chu."
With Sura wondering, a girl of about twelve, blue spiky short hair walks over to Sura and sits down.
"I heard about your dilemma and I agree. They need to be stopped." she speaks.
Sura looks over at the girl, blinking, "You do?"
The girl nods "Yes. Those gangs try recruiting other trainers. Those that want to be pokemon trainers but the gangs always get ahold of them."
Sura continues to stare at the girl, "You a pokemon trainer?"
"Yes. But I have to continually run away because of it. Keeping my pokemon under wraps."
"Oh." Sura says. Her pichu stares at the new girl.
"Pi pi chu."
"I'm Lyla," the girl introduces herself.
Sura blinks, "O! Sorry. I'm Sura Namiru from New Bark Town." Sura indicates her pichu, "this is my pichu."
"Pi chu"
Lyla nod to the pichu before turning back to Sura.
"So, what's your plan?"
Sura smiles and reveals her plan.
IN THE CENTER OF TOWN
the townspeople are busy. Setting up for the next time the Muroks and the Narokas will clash. Sura's up on the roof setting up the electrical rods for her pichu's attack, just in case.
Lyla and a group of kids are setting traps: barrels filled with water, eggs, tar, so that from the slightest touch will send the barrels down.
Nurse Joy and some assistants are making their own preparations: in a battle such as this, there will be injuries both to pokemon and their trainers. Nurse Joy and her assistants will be ready for them.
Now the townspeople are in hiding, waiting. Sura, her pichu, and Lyla are sitting on the roof of the pokemon center.
Lyla looks over at Sura to ask, "you sure this will work? I'm not really convinced."
"Of course it will. Everyone in the town is helping to stop these groups. First, we have to stop their fighting each other before they can be made to see reason," Sura explains.
"Pi chu."
"All right. I hope you're right about this," Lyla said. Sura winkds at her before turning back, waiting.
THE SOUND OF YELLS, CHANTING EVEN IS HEARD IN THE DISTANCE
"Well, here they come." Sura said. Lyla only nods.
Yells of Muroks and Narokas are heard and getting loud, till the groups come together. They stop directly in the center of town.
"Muroks will triumph!"
"The Narokas will stomp all over the Muroks!"
More words are exchanged before Sura interposed herself causing the two groups to look up at the girl.
"You two better stop your brawling! Don't you know you're degrading your pokemon by forcing them to fight in this way!"
"What do you know, gir;?!" Tonu shouts to her.
"You don't use pokemon for brawling. That is NOT the way of a pokemon trainer." Sura begins. "You nurture them. Train them. And as they train they become stronger. And you love them."
The two leaders of the group stare at Sura before they shout," get her!"
Members of both groups yell, directing their pokemon to attack Sura. Sura looks at them, shakes her head, and say, "well, I did warn them."
She removes a pokeball, "Pidgey! I choose you!"
In the air, pidgey appears from the pokeball. "Pidgey! Gust attack!"
"Pidge!"
The pidgey flaps its wings creating dust clouds, sending it over toward the group. Coughing is heard, even where Lyla and Sura are sitting.
"Good work pidgey. Return!" Sura calls holding pidgey's pokeball out. A thin red beam of light comes from the pokeball in Sura's hand to strike the pidgey. Pidgey glows red before the red beam of light sucks pidgey in the pokeball. Sura puts pidgey's pokeball away and chooses another.
"Go Chikorita!"
Chikorita appears from its pokeball.
"Chikorita, razor leaf!" Sura said.
"Chi ka!"
Leaves come out as Chikorita sends the leaves toward the ropes holding the barrels.
They slice through as the Muroks and the Narokas get plastered with either water, mud, eggs, or tar. Now the group calms down.
Sura looks over at Lyla asking, "So, you think they're calm enough to talk?"
"I guess. We still have the ace in the hole," Lyla replies. Sura nods in agreement.
Lyla and Sura stand before the two leaders who're looking like soggy bundles of clothing as they stand before the two girls.
"Why?" the leader of the Narokas said, looking at the girls.
"Because your pokemon doesn't deserve to be used the way you all are using them," Sura answers.
"But, its the only way we know how. To train our pokemon," Tonu spoke.
Sura shakes her head, "your way but not the right one?"
"Then how Oh, tell us what to do?" both leaders say in unison.
Sura stares at them in shock. Their faces have that eager expression on them. Lyla looks at the two, "go on Sura."
"Well, don't degrade your pokemon by having them brawl...." Sura began.
WITH THE SUN BEGINNING TO SINK BELOW THE HORIZON
the former members of the Muroks and the Narokas had begun rebuilding those damaged areas of the town, Sura is saying her good-byes to Nurse Joy and Lyla and the townspeople.
"You've done an excellent job stopping the Muroks and the Narokas. Thank you," Nurse Joy said.
"I was happy to help out," Sura spoke. Her pichu perched on the back of Sura's backpack.
"Pi pi chu."
"You've saved the town Sura," Nurse Joy remarks, a smile on her face.
Sura smiles back, "well, I guess its time for me to leave. Take care."
Nurse Joy nods. Then a voice speaks, "Yes. It is time that we leave."
Sura looks around to see who had spoken.
The crowd parts as Lyla steps forward. She's wearing a backpack on her back. Lyla moves up to Sura's side.
"Uh, you don't have to come with me, Lyla."
"Course I do. Besides, I need to continue my own journey. So, I choose to go with you." Lyla smiles at Sura.
Sura listens before smiling back, "I welcome your company." Sura slightly moves her head. "Right Pichu."
"Pi."
The two girls turn away beginning to walk out of the town, to continue on their pokemon journey. Nurse Joy and the townspeople waving their good-byes till the two girls disappear along the horizon.

Note: Well, here ends Chapter Two were Sura meets a new friend and recieve an eevee. Sura's meeting with Ash, Misty, and Brock are still further along but who knows how or even where this meeting will be. Stay tuned.
