Chapter Three

Attack on Colony L-3

OUT IN SPACE

the Preventers battleship floats sedately in space, calm after the battle against Oz. Space debris floats, the only remnents of a vast space force.

INSIDE THE PREVENTERS BATTLE CRUISER MOVING OUT OF THE HANGAR

five little girls are skipping along holding hands with five young men. The men being HEERO YUY, QUATRE REBARBA WINNER, DUO MAXWELL, TROWA BARTON, and WUFEI CHANG. The little girls are their daughters. After having a long talk with their daughters, the five young men are heading for the bridge where the members of the Preventers are meeting.

"Daddy do we have to stay with you?" Sayna Maxwell asks. The other four girls are nodding their heads vigorously and looking up at their own fathers.

Duo Maxwell looking at his little girl, with her own single braid hanging down her back. A smile tries to appear but he fights it down.

"Until things are okay, you girls are to remain where we can see you."

KARENA YUY stares at her father.

"Is that---true?"

Heero only nods his head.

"But, what about the gundams?" SU LON protests in question.

"We'll come to that when we do," Wufei answers.

"But I wanna fight!" LINAT BARTON yells. Her father Trowa lifts her struggling little body up in his arms. He stares into her eyes causing the little girl to cease her struggles.

"Linat? You don't want to fight. Thats not the way I'm raising you," Trowa said, staring directly into Linat's eyes. Trowa holds the little girls's gaze before she drops her own gaze.

"But daddy, HeavyArms said I had the makings to be a gundam pilot," Linat mutters. Trowa's brows drop realizing it is indeed true about Linat and the other girls able to communicate with the gundams. Then he looks over at the other girls.

"Did the gundams tell you four the same?"

The four little girls nod vigorously. Heero, Duo, Wufei, Trowa, and Quatre look at each other with looks of profound skeptism on their faces.

"Looks like the girls are even closer to the gundams than we are," Quatre answers.

"But how can that be?" Duo spoke in question.

"I think thats something we'll never know," Wufei said.

"So can we daddy?" Qusna asks looking at her father, Quatre.

"Just be careful," he asnswers after minutes of silence. The five little girls cheers and takes off at a run for the Preventers meeting. After a while, the five men catch up.

COLONY L-3 SOMEWHERE IN A HIDDEN LAB

five middle age men wearing lab coats are briskly moving around as they are in the process of completing a new weapom, the Mega Beam Cannon.

"Begin test number one," Scientist #1 spoke. He was a tall man with a brown colored mustache and curly brown hair wearing grey trousers, black shirt under a white lab coat.

The Mega Beam Cannon built for a gundam is supported on a tripod pointed at a far wall structure.

A thick orange stream of light from the Mega Beam Cannon strikes the wall structure, leaving nothing but rubble. The five scientists congradulate each other.

"What about Oz? They're sure to try and get a hold of the Mega Beam Cannon," scientist #3 reminds them.

"But, what about the other four cannons?" Scientist #5 asks.

"We have to hide them all until we can find gundams for them," number four replies.

Scientist number 5 nods as they begin directing the packing of the five Mega Beam Cannons in large crates.

ON EARTH SOMEWHERE

in the fairly large white mansion MS. JAYNE slowly moves away from the desk to look out of the window at the Sunshine outside.

So, they've finally completed the Mega Beam Cannons. Now to appropriate them.

Ms. Jayne returns to her desk where she puts in a call to MAJOR KAIN and JUNAUYA BIN. She has them attack colony L-3 while looking for the five Scientists and their inventions.

COLONY L-3

Things are pretty much quiet except for the talk about the gundams stopping the attack on colony L-1 recently. An explosion rocks the colony sending the inhabitants fleeing tn terror. In the meantime the five Scientists, having hidden the Mega Beam Cannons realizing the colony was under attack wonders what to do.

"We have to get out of here. They're after us," Scientist #1 spoke amid the screaming and blasts. The other four look at him.

"How would you know?" Scientist #3 asks.

"That's Oz's troops out there. They're after the Mega Beam Cannons," Scientist #1 replied.

"then lets go!" number 4 said.

The five Scientists take off for someplace safe.

PREVENTER'S SHIP

on the bridge word has come to them of the attack of colony L-3. Discussions on what to do are being talked and planned out. Karena, Sayna, Su Lon, Linat, and Qusna are sitting on the floor, talking among each other while their fathers and the Preventers are making plans.

A massive shockwave strike the ship causing everyone to stare.

"We're under attack!" Duo exclaims, the first to say anything, though the five men knew what the shockwave was when it hit.

The ship's lights go red as a voice speaks out urgently,

"We have Oz forces surrounding us!"

The shockwave causes the five girls to quickly get to their feet. They look at each other.

"What do you think we should do?" Qusna whispers the question and looking over at her father before turning back to the other girls.

Another shockwave makes up their minds, "let's go stop them!"

In agreement, the five girls make their way out without their fathers knowing.

In the hallway of the ship, the five girls quickly make their way to the hangar where they gundams are.

OUT IN SPACE

Ares mobile suits is attacking the Preventer ship. Things seem to be going according to plan. The Preventers send out their own forces but the Ares mobile suits are too fast for them.

"We can't get at them, they're extremely quick," one pilot spoke.

"Keep trying them," the officer on the Preventer ship answers.

"Yes sir."

Five gundams make their appearance. Each one take on two a piece.

"Let's take these Ares mobile suits down," Sayna Maxwell exclaims as the gundam Deathscythe brings out its scythe.

The gundam Deathscythe boosts toward the two mobile suits and slashes through.

In the meantime, the gundam Nataku, is moving among the mobile suits. They're real fast trying to get in a hit.

"No, can't do that." Su Lon is saying as Nataku dodges. "Sorry too slow."

Nataku is behind the mobile suit.

"Say bye bye!" Su Lon yells as Nataku's beam lance cuts through the enemy mobile suit.

BACK ON THE PREVENTERS SHIP

the five fathers recieve word that their daughters are battling the mobile suits. Quite successfully too.

The group is now on the bridge as the five gundams are moving around the enemy MS's as if they're standing still.

"I got to hand it to the girls, they're really good," Relena said watching. "Probably has to do with their parent."

The five gundam pilots look at Relena.

"Whatever are you talking about?" Quatre asks.

"Your daughters are wonderful pilots." Relena began.

"Most likely, its heriditary."

Quatre nods in understanding.

OZ HEADQUARTERS

Ms. Jayne is busy working at her desk. She's comprising a speech for the commitee. Her phone com begins beeping. Ms. Jayne looks up from her speech writing.

"Yes?" she inquires. "I'm very busy."

"Jayne, have youdestroyed those girls?" the mysterious SHADOW asks.

"I am working on it Shadow. Those girls have become gundam pilots."

Shadow roars in anger. Ms. Jayne flinches at his anger.

"New plan Jayne. Don't fail me!" Shadow exclaims regaining his composure, "capture those girls and bring them to me."

Ms. Jayne looks at him in confusion.

"But Shadow, I thought you wanted those girls dead."

"Never CONTRADICT ME!" Shadow roars. Ms. Jayne cowers away.

"Yes Sir!"

"Good. Now execute my orders," Shadow says as the phone screen goes blank.

Ms. Jayne gets to her feet, pacing the length of the room in wonder.

Now what made Shadow change his mind about the gundam pilots' daughters?

She get to her feet, moving over to the window, her hands clasped behind her back.

What are you planning? Whats going on back home?

Ms. Jayne continues looking out of the window now, her hands clasped behind her. Then she moves back over to her desk where she contacts Major Kain to apprise the woman of her new orders.

ON THE BRIDGE OF JUNAUYA BIN'S BATTLESHIP

Major Kain has recieved her new orders. Without a change of pace, Major Kain executes the plan.

COLONY L-3

the five scientists are moving at a quick pace amon the other citizens.

Ahead of them, a group of Oz soldiers cause the five men to stop.

"You five scientists are coming with us," the lead soldier declares.

"I don't think so!" Scientist #1 said before turning to his four companions, "scatter!"

The five scientists separate, fleeing from the Oz soldiers.

"After them!" the leader yells as the five scientists fled. The Oz soldiers also separate going after the five scientists.

WITH THE FIRST SCIENTIST

he has given his pursuers the slip.

The Mega Beam Cannons! They're in trouble. I've got to move them from their hiding places!

and changes direction, heading for the place where the five cannons are hidden.

Being careful, the scientist enters the unused building where the five Mega Beam Cannons are hiding.

I've got to find another hiding place.

He begins the ardurous task of getting the five weapons on a small shuttle, and out of the building.

OUT IN SPACE

the five gundams are destroying Mobile Suits left and right. It is Karena who first notes the shuttle escaping from colony L-3.

"Hm, wonder who's that escaping from the colony," she mutters. Then she says, "Hey, I'll be right back."

The Wing Gundam Zero, with Karena Yuy takes off leaving the other to fight on.

Karena's gundam moves toward the shuttle, blocking its escape.

"Shuttle, what is it that you are escaping from?" Karena asks.

There's silence for a long while. Then, something happens. Another enemy Mobile Suit comes behind the shuttle, firing on it. The shuttle violently shutters in reaction. Karena's mind freezes in shock as the Wing Gundam Zero lets loose with its mounted wing vulcan. The Mobile Suit breaks apart then explodes. Karena laughs before turning her attention back to the shuttle.

From what she could assess, there was little damage except to the rear where there is a large gaping hole.

"Shuttle, please follow me for repairs," Kareana said as her gundam moves in front of the shuttle that's following her.

BACK ON THE PREVENTER'S BATTLE CRUISER

the five gundams and the shuttle have landed. Five little girls exit from the gundams to await the pilot of the shuttle. The girls' fathers are also there.

The hatch of the shuttle opens as the five men pull their daughters behind them, not knowing who would come out but ready nonetheless. What exits is the scientist. He stops, staring at the five men, daughters peeking out from behind them.

"Thank you for helping me there," the Scientist began.

Karena, Sayna, Linat, Qusna, and Su Lon step out from behind their fathers.

"It was Karena there who helped you," Sayna speaks first.

The scientist looks over at the girl, inclining his head, "then I thank you, little lady for your timely rescue."

"What did they want from your?" Karena asks finally getting her voice.

"I and four of my fellow scientists have been busily working on five Mega Beam Cannons."

"Mega Beam Cannons?" Duo asks, staring at him, "What is this Mega Beam Cannon?"

"My four companions worked on five cannons capable of massive damage. My coworkers are probably captured by now," he said on a sigh.

The five little girls listen to the scientist feeling pity for him. They look at each other, the same idea in their minds: to rescue the other four scientists from Oz's clutches.

The scientist stare at the group before he gets an idea.

"How about I install the cannons on your gundams? They were made to fit on gundams anyway."

The five men look at each other then at their daughters, realizing that since the girls will be piloting the gundams, more armament would be needed.

"Of course Doc. Go right ahead," Quatre speaks up first followed by nods by the others.

"Thank you," the scientist said. Work began on installing the Mega Beam Cannons on the five gundams that very day.

Note: Whew! Finally finished with Chapter Three of this Gundam Wing fan fiction. Chapter Four, we get to know more about why the Shadow wants to capture the five little girls where for the longest time, he wanted them dead. Stay tuned!
