Hiya. Well I'm back and with Chapter 5 of this set of Crossover between Digimon 02 and Yu-Gi-Oh! Well, enough said, here's chapter five.

Angel of Light

Chapter 5

The digidestined follow Kari and Gatomon, now walking beside her. They wonder what could be going on with Kari. That duel they had witnessed was strange especially when Kari fought in that duel. It was like she wasn't the Kari they knew. She was more mature, more sure of herself. It was a strange thing to see.

Kari was awesome during that duel and yet I could hardly recognize her, Tai thought as he walked beside his sister. Every so often he would glance at her, to see if he could see that other person.

Oh wow! This place is so different from home, Izzy thought gazing about him.

They continue to walk, following Kari and Gatomon. Kari doesn't make much of things her friends may be thinking. Her thoughts are on what could be trying to harm this world.

ODION'S SHOP

The group entered to see all kinds of Duel Monsters cards. They mingle before the front counter where a man stood. Kari smiled as she turned to her friends,

"Guys, this is Odion. He's helped me lots since I came to this world."

"I'm gratful for your helping my sister," Tai spoke up and stepping forward, closer to the counter. Odion inclines his head.

"It is a pleasure. After all, Kari is the hope of our world."

There were smiles on the digidestined's faces at Odion's words. Though he didn't know that in their world, Kari was the Digidestined of Light it was an interesting contrast. Now she was the Angel of Light.

"So, Mister Odion, can you tell us what could be threatening this world?" Sora asked.

Odion glanced at her, shrugging. He began to reveal what he told Kari when she first came. The digidestined gasped at that, not knowing what to say or anything about that.

Odion finished retelling his story and turned away for a few seconds. Kari saw this and wondered. He returned to the counter with a small box wrapped prettily in pink wrapping paper. He pushed the box toward Kari who stared at him in question.

"What's this?" she asked. Her brother and friends stare in silence wondering the same thing.

"Something I think you will need in the future." he said.

Confused, she took the box and ripped open the pretty paper. Opening the box she saw more duel monsters cards. Her glance at Odion was even more confused.

"More Duel Monsters cards? I don't get it?"

"Look at them. I think you'll begin to understand," he answered.

Taking up one card, she was startled at what she saw...

...A picture of SnowBotamon stared up at her. And on the bottom of the card was the digimon's stats, his attacks, etc. She gazed back at Odion.

"But this is a digimon. How?"

"These cards just came out from KaibaCorp and this set was sent here for you from Seito Kaiba himself. They're for you."

"Oh. Okay," she said and placing the card back in the deck. She would use them when next she was challenged. Then she placed that new deck in her duel disk and the one she was using in her pocket.

Digimon Duel Cards. I love the concept. she thought.

"Be careful Hikari, these digimon duel cards are even now out and there are many youngsters out there with them. Including a few duelists who have made it to duelist kingdom and other competitions." Odion said.

"Who?" Kari asked.

Odion glanced at her, eyes wide.

"Of course, one of the top duelists is a young man named Weevil Underwood. He deals with bug cards."

"Weevil? Sounds scary. Hope I don't meet him," she said.

"You may." Odion said. "Just be careful."

Kari nods as the bell above the store rings loudly. The digidestined turned at the sound to see a young man wearing glasses and smug look on his face--Weevil Underwood in the flesh. Odion glanced at him, frowning fiercely.

"What do you want Underwood? Surely, you've got all the cards you need."

"Just to make sure you aren't carrying any powerful digimon duel cards here in this dump of a shop," Weevil said. Kari fiercely frowned at that. Odion's shop, a dump! Why that!

Seeing the storm clouds growing in his sister's face, Tai grabbed her arm, to hold her back.

"No Kari. You don't know what he's capible of. Besides, show us around the city, why don't you," he whispered in her ear.

Kari nodded and left with the rest of the digidestined. As they left, Weevil was watching them, a smirk on his face.

Wonder how good that girl is with that duel disk?

Odion stared at Weevil and cleared his throat to get his attention.

"Actually, Weevil I'll be getting more cards tomorrow. I gave the last pack to Kari there." he said. Weevil's glance went back to Odion frowning fiercely.

"WHAT!" he yelled and ran out of the shop. Odion watched knowing that the cards he gave Kari should keep her on top if Weevil should challenge her.

Outside with Kari and the digidestined

The digidestined are looking around, awe written on their faces. Compared with home, this place was clean.

"So Kari, what can you tell us about the trouble that's going on here?" Yolei asked.

Kari looked at her frowning slightly.

"It hasn't really happened yet. But I get the feeling it will soon."

"How's that?" Cody questioned. Kari shrugged and was about to answer when a voice shouted.

"HEY!"

They all turned at the voice to see Weevil quickly making his way toward them. Kari rolled her eyes at that, not knowing what he could want. Weevil stopped before her, sneering.

"I hear you might have some powerful cards in your deck? Come on let's battle!"

The Millennium Puzzle about Kari's neck begins to glow and the 'spirit' of the puzzle makes his/her appearance, changing Kari.

"Fine then." she said holding up the duel disk before her. Weevil saw this and did the same.

"LET'S DUEL!" they say at the same time. Four thousand points appear and the duel begins.

"My turn," Kari says pulling a card from her deck.

"I play Kuriboh in defense mode." Kari begins.

"Hahaha. I'll play Enchanted Moth in attack mode. And I'll put down a face down." Weevil said. "Now, Enchanted Moth, attack!"

Weevil's card moves in to attack spewing a white string at Kari's Kuriboh. Kuriboh is destroyed as Weevil laughs.

She's no match for me. Hahahaha! he thought. Kari then chooses another card and places it down. (And I'll stop here for the time being.)
