On Saturday September 28th a group of brave souls ventured out to tackle the rugged terrain of the Blackfoot Grazing Reserve 45 minutes East of Edmonton. Well maybe we weren't so "brave" and the terrain might not have been that "rugged", but we had fun none the less. Although there were originally going to be upwards of 15 horses on this ride, there were only 6 horses that showed.  It was the first trailride ever for my horse Andy (Goldun Pretense) and Chloe (Hympressive Sierra). Candi's horse Tom (The Cruisen Chip) was much more seasoned having been on one ride previously. It was a good thing the rest of our herd were experienced veterans. We encountered many obstacles: logs, bridges, wild "kittens", other horses and a hunter hiding in the bushes.

Besides two minor "episodes" Andy took it all in stride. As long as he had a butt to follow he was pretty relaxed. The ride took approximately 2.5 hours and we were famished when we got back to the trailers. Luckily Karin and Joan, the Chefs Du Jour, had the campfire going and we began to feast upon the traditional hot dogs and marshmallows, topped of with the not so traditional Baklava. (Thanks Joan) All in all we had a great time and hope to see more people join us on our next adventure.
