The Strange Anniversary

"You know what today is, Jack?"

"Sure, it's Friday!"

"Yeah, but what day is it?"

"Daniel, you're a linguist, talk sense to me?"

"Funny!  Okay, it's our anniversary."

"What?  Sweet!  ...Whoa, what anniversary?

"Since that first Friday, of course.  Six whole weeks."

"Six weeks?  What kind of anniversary is that!"

"Well, it should've been four but we were stuck off-world so..."

"Ah, gotcha.  You're strange, Daniel.  ....I never thought we'd make it, y'know?  Actually, never thought we'd make one week."

"What?  Why?  We love each other, we can trust in that."

"You betcha.   But love isn't always enough.  We're such opposites, we never agree.  You won't obey me."

"I do ...sometimes, colonel, sir!  ....I have a mind and I exercise it.  But Jack -- now I do what he wants."

"Yeah, you do.  So roll over.  My turn tonight."

"It is not!  You got to do me last night, it's my turn."

"Jeeze, Daniel, didn't know you were keeping score!"

"I'm not, I just love the way you make me feel and I want to give you that...."

"Thought you said you'd do what I want."

"But I am, Jack."

"Damnit, Daniel, how do you do that?"

"I love you."
