‘Ciao! Come sta? Benvenuto la Torre di Pisa!!!

Hi, how are you? Welcome to the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa.

The leaning tower of Pisa is located in the ‘Square of Miracles’, which also houses the venerable ‘Duomo’, baptistery and an exquisite Gothic church by Nicola Pisano.

The building begun in 1174 on designs by architect Bonanno Pisano and was only finished between 1350 and 1356 by Giovanni Di Simone. It has eight stories with 207 columns and an internal staircase with 294 steps. The scientist Galileo Galilei performed his famous experiments on the laws of gravity from the top of the Leaning Tower.

You may also notice the new style I am using. This was actually a good suggestion by my site’s biggest  and most loyal fan, Susan. Thanks Susan!!! I will be using thumbnails on my site and to get a better view of the pictures, just click on it, have fun!!!

The ‘Square of Miracles

The famous ‘Leaning Tower

Me with ‘The Tower’

Hmm, maybe I could help straighten it, he he.

The ‘Duomo

Inside the ‘Duomo’, wow!

Here’s another one.

Pisano’s pulpit

The great bronze doors at the entrance of the Duomo designed by Bonnano depleting the life of Jesus Christ.

The Baptistery beside the Duomo also designed by Nicola Pisano.

I think this is called the ‘Lovers’ Fountain’, located also inside the Square of Miracles.

The University of Pisa, where Amerigos studied before he discovered America.

How the ‘Square of Miracles’ will look like after the restoration work is done!
