7th - 100,000 out for Hyde Park pop concert

Grey skies failed to dampen spirits of thousands of music fans as they turned out to watch some of the biggest names in pop at this year's Party In The Park.

Around 100,000 people packed London's Hyde Park for Europe's biggest one day pop extravaganza.

Pop Idol Will Young, Atomic Kitten, Wyclef Jean and Shaggy were among the big names entertaining the crowds at the annual event in aid of the Prince's Trust.

The heavens opened as boy band Blue made a spectacular entrance, abseiling on to the stage to perform their No 1 single All Rise.

But the skies soon cleared and the sell-out crowd were singing along to some of the biggest chart hits of the past year.

Atomic Kitten's, Natasha Hamilton gave her last performance at the concert before the birth of her son.

The heavily-pregnant star is due in six weeks and the girl band dedicated their hit song Whole Again to her unborn baby, who she has already named Josh.

Last year the group, who are ambassadors for the Prince's Trust, got the Prince of Wales dancing away in the Royal Box.

The Prince is due to attend the event, sponsored by radio station Capital FM, which last year raised 1 million for his charity.

Canadian rocker Bryan Adams is the headline act at the event and the bill includes Natalie Imbruglia, Popstars reject Liberty X, Mis-Teeq and the Lighthouse Family.

8th - Kittens thank Will for getting them on stage

Atomic Kitten have thanked Will Young for stepping in when stewards wouldn't allow them on stage at Capital FM's Party In The Park.

Security guards didn't recognise them and tried to prevent them getting through.

Atomic Kitten's Natasha told The Sun: "We were rushing around a bit and made a quick dash from our changing room to the stage.

"It was only when we tried to bound on that we were stopped in our tracks. They didn't have a clue who we were.

"I think they thought we were over-zealous fans trying to storm the stage. Luckily Will saved the day."

The show in Hyde Park raised money for the Prince's Trust.

Will will be making an appearance on BBC1's Sports Relief show this Saturday. If you just want to check out Will then tune in around 8.40pm to catch him.

We're currently putting some finishing touches to a new behind the scenes video that Will recorded over the last month or two. We'd like you to choose the music that we edit the video to. Choose from any one of the tracks that Will has released on his singles and post your vote in the 'Choice Cuts' section of the message board. There is a thread there waiting for you. We'll have a look on Monday and then get editing and hope to have the new behind the scenes video online shortly.

16th - Will and Elvis to battle it out in album charts

Will Young's debut album will be released on the same day as a new Elvis Presley compilation.

The Pop Idol winner's as-yet-unnamed album will hit the shops on September 30.

According to The Sun, Elvis's new greatest hits release is also out that day on the same label, BMG.

Some fans had hoped the clash would be avoided to help Will go to number one in the album charts.

Pop Idol runner-up Gareth Gates' new single Anyone Of Us (Stupid Mistake) went to number one after BMG deleted JXL's remix of Elvis's A Little Less Conversation.
