My Pets
Pets and Animals are a big part of my life.  Im also taken with reptiles and insects theyre just so interesting.  Ive always said, if I had had myself together, I would have studied to be an herpetologist or an entomologist   oh  well.  Sometimes I feel I have a bigger heart for animals than I do for most people; since animals are pretty much helpless to the cruelties of people, I try not to chide myself too much

Ive had pets all my life.  Over the years, Ive had a menagerie - mice, gerbils, snakes, lizards, hermit crabs, frogs and of course dogs and cats.  Ive done Fostering for abandoned dogs keeping a pup in my home until a suitable family can be found teaching them basic manners, giving love and socialization with the pets and people within my circle.

As for pets, at this time I have 2 dogs and 2 cats.  I Love My Pets Dearly.
My Pups...
Russell
Annie
My Kit Kats...
Russell is a 7.5yr, male, Black Lab.  I found Russell in the parking lot of my neighborhood Kroger (grocery store).  He was about 4mos and sick as heck, though I didnt know it.  I just thought he was calm for a puppy his age and brought him home without thinking about it.  In doing so, I brought canine Parvo into my house - a highly contagious and potentially fatal gastrointestinal disease in dogs.  With care and time, he recovered, and has been a Wonderful pup.

Annie is a 2.5yr, female Australian Shepherd/Beagle mix.  Annie was dumped in my neighborhood when she was about 3-4 months old  I didnt find out about her until almost a week after she arrived, cuz one of the neighbors was feeding her on their porch.  The neighbors said that there was another puppy with her, a male, but he had disappeared.  I had not intended to keep her, just to hold her for placement into a good home.  However, she wormed her way into my heart and is still around  *LOL*

Both my pups are inside/outside.  Russell prefers to be inside, while Annie prefers to be outside, but she really prefers to be wherever Russ is, so shes inside most of the time.  My Pups go out with me as much as possible - they are well mannered and social and it's nice to be able to take them around.  I do have "rules" for my pets - they don't jump up, lick faces, beg at the table and are not allowed on the furniture. I guess I sound strict, but I like pets that are welcomed and don't impose.
Hardy
Hardy is a 2.5yr, male, pale orange tabby.  I rescued Hardy off the Sam Houston Toll Road and the Hwy 59 exit ramp when he was just a small kitten.  It was a Hot September day, and he was sitting on the concrete wall of the shoulder about 4 stories high.  He had either been tossed from a vehicle, or been up in the wheel well and fallen out onto the road.  Whichever he was banged up and had some injuries that I wasnt sure he would recover from.  Over 2.5yrs later, hes still with me!  Hardy is strictly an inside cat.

Alien is an 18yr, female, long-hair calico.  I rescued her from a tree when she was only about 2 months old - she had one of the loudest voices I had ever heard!  Alien is a good old kitty... Unfortunately, she started having accidents in the house, so she is no longer allowed inside.  She has a nice warm and dry house outside, though I do bring her in when it gets too cold or too wet.  At that time, she stays in a bathroom.
