| Packs a Wallop | ||||||
| This trick comes from a book by Doug Edward, written by Harry Lorayne, caled Doug Edwards Packs A Wallop. I highly recommend that book as it is the best book I have ever read on card magic. | ||||||
| Effect: A selected card is shuffled into the pack. The magician then turns over the top card and it is the ace of spades. He places the ace into the box. He then sandwhiches the box between the two halfs of the deck. The box protruding out the back. He flicks the box and one card jumps face down out of the deck. Upon turning it over it is revealed as the ace of spades. "Hmm thats wierd" states the magician as he reaches for the box. Shaking the box reveals one card inside. When taken out it is the spectators card. | ||||||
| Meathod: 1. Start with the ace of spades on top and have a card selected. 2. This is the first tricky part. You must get the slected card on top and have the ace under it. One meathod is to just have them return the card to the top and do some false shuffles and cuts. 3. Then do a double lift showing the ace of spades. Put the double back down; 4. Slide the the top card which they think is the ace but is actually their card, into the box. While you are doing this get a break under one card. Place the box onto the deck and when you take it away pick up the card above the break. Conceal it under the box. 5. Then in your left hand split the deck into two, placing one half face up onto the table. put the box with the card under it ontop of this half with the end sticking out almost half way. Then put the other half of the deck on top. 6. Flick the box. The card that was under it will be sticking out half way. Turn it over and it will be the ace. Open the box to show their card has jumped intot the box. |
