Hollow Heart
Chapter two : Part one The Party

"You are not going to wear that tonight." Brooke commented tossing her spanish book into her locker as she scanned over her friends clothing.

"Why not?" Ashley whined, crossing her arms across her puffy teal coat.

"Because this isn't some girly party." she replied in a snappy tone, "this determines the way people see you."

"I like the way people see me." Ash defended.

"As...wolf girl?" she spat refering to her sweatshirt that had a mug shot of a gray wolf on it. "Seriously. Show them you aren't a geek out of school."

"I'm not a geek!" Ashley screamed furiously at her friend.

"Some people see you that way." Brooke spat, "Prove them wrong. Show them you can be like Britney Spears too."

"Ooh, Britney Spears...good topic." Luke commented, brushing past his younger sister to retrieve his leather coat from the locker.

"Okay, Luke." Brooke said, grinning, "Is Ashley 'wolf girl' or 'foxy'?"

"What?" he muttered, his left eyebrow raising slightly.

"Ashley." Brooke laughed, "You can wear something of mine. Think, sluttitree...not woof woof."

"William!"

Quickly Will spun around, breathing hard to see his brother running down the hall towards him. "Hey..." he stopped suddenly, and quickly gathered his thoughts, trying to remember his brother's name, "...Peter."

"How was school?" Peter questioned, "Better than being a Mof..."

"Zip it!" William screamed, smacking his brother in the back of the head. His voice lowered into a whisper, "They are dead. We can't go back...So forget it completely."

"...So, how was school?" Peter whispered, a hurt expression fixed on his face.

"Got lost a few times." William muttered.

"Just a few?" his sibling inquired.

"Yes. Just a few...like twenty."

Peter laughed, "Did you meet the spanish teacher?"

"Yeah." William grinned, "She's real cute." Peter gave him a disqusted look.

"I think maybe you had a different teacher." he choked out, "because if you think the old, crazy..."

William cut him off, "She was young, cute, and with wavy brown hair."

"Oh!" Peter laughed, "I had Lawton...I think that's her name. She's enthusastic and crazy!"

"Your kind of women."

"Oh, no. It's yours little brother." Peter grinned loving the fact he could call his four minute younger brother little. "She was acting like a donkey in front of class, it was sooo funny!"

"Yeeha...Jackass." Will fired at his brother.

"Did you just call me a jackass?"

"Yes."

"Well, at least I'm not bubble butt."

"I don't eat that much!"

"Oh, say what you want, just say what you want...chubby."

"Damn, your forking annoying!"

"Brooke." a familiar voice called down the hall.

"Shit." she muttered, just in time to have an arm thrown around her shoulder.

"Where are you going?" Joe questioned, nuzzling his head against hers.

"Home." she replied coldly.

"Will you be at Josh's?" he asked, his dark eyes scanning her face for the answer.

"No." she growled, "So don't bother going."

"Ahh, I might just stop by." he said, sensing that she was going to go. It was a close friend of hers and all.

"I wouldn't." Brooke advised, pushing away from him, "Luke's going to be there...don't give him a reason to kick your ass."

"He couldn't." Joe snapped softly. Brooke gave Ashley a knowlingly look before they left Joe staning in the hall with a dumbfounded look on his face.

"I'll stop by at six, okay?" Megan asked her green eyes searching Luke's face as he leaned up against the locker.

"Like I said before." he muttered, "If you want you can."

"I will." she said, smiling at him.

"Alright." Luke mumbled, "Are you picking up Heidi too?"

"No, she's driving there herself. She doesn't want to stick around that long." Megan explained, reaching into the locker and pulling her coat out.

"Okay...I think." Luke replied, while shurgging his shoulders slightly. Silently, Megan let the locker door slam shut, turning around and heading for the ramp that lead to the commons. Luke was hot on her heels following her into the crowded cafeteria.

"Hey, do you think I could borrow your Kik Wearz?" Megan called from infront of Luke as she brushed past the doors that lead outside.

"The shiny ones." Luke responded, "because I'm wearing the other ones."

"So, I'll change at your house." Megan foretold, "that way I don't need to make an extra stop on the way to Josh's to change."

"Yeah." Luke spat, walking straight as Megan turned off to go to her car. Jake, her ex-boyfriend, joining up with her the second she pulled away from Luke.

The second all four Valmont boys were in the car, Andrew began to pull out of the parking spot. Bickering fron William and Peter could still he heard. "What's gotten into you two?" Andy called, glancing to Peter who was half turned around in the passangers seat throwing out comments at his younger sibling.

"Will called me a jackass." Peter explained, letting out a huff and turning around so he sat straight in his seat, a hurt expression fixed on his face.

"Well, at least I wasn't confessing my love for the gray-haired spanish teacher." Will shot to the front of the car.

"I was not!" Peter cried from the front.

"She's enthusatic and crazy!" His brother chirped in a girly voice, adding a giggle at the end for emphazism.

"Leave me alone..." Peter snapped, an uneased feeling forming in his stomach because William was irratating him. Peter hated it when people made fun of him for being himself...unusual, hyper and funny.

"Ooh...make me, baby." Will taunted.

"Hey!" Andrew yelled, breaking up the two's conflict, and releasing the tention in the car. "Are any of you going to that party tonight?"

"Yes." Peter yelped, a grin forming on his face again.

"Maybe..." William replied still pondering the fact.

"No." Came Thomas' gruff voice from the back seat. Being Peter's identical twin, he was quite differnt. The quite, more sensitive one.

"Why not?" Andrew questioned his brother's 'no', glancing in the rearview mirror to see a pissy look fixed on Thomas' face. Figuring out he wasn't going to answer, he turned back to talking to his other siblings. "Is this better than..." he asked, letting his voice trail off.

"No." came Thomas' input from the back.

"It was fine." William muttered, knowing he'd hear the same question at least two more times that day.

"I think after awhile...we'll forget..." Peter whispered, "But right now...I kinda miss the attention."

"I already got a girl." Andy winked at his brothers, "Not offically, but I know she wants me."

Thomas' face dropped even more, "School sucks."
