"So, you never told me...how did it go last night?" Laura gushed in a slightly quiet voice, "Did you kiss him?" Brooke flashed her a devious smile. "You did!" her friend cried, "Details!"
Brooke lifted her shoulders in a slight shrug as she stood up, "I didn't hate it." Laura laughed, but it was cut short when they heard the auditorium doors creak open and then slam shut...they were caught.
"Shit.." Laura muttered, standing up and trying to see through the darkened room for who had just came into the auditorium. Both girls stood in fear before they realized that it was just a student that was in there, and not only a student..but Gil.
"Brookie, I need to talk to you." his voice came out so gentle that it gave Brooke an uneased feeling in the pit of his stomach. One day he could be the cruelist thing on earth, and the next...perfectly fine. His sudden mood changes gave her an unbearable amount of fear.
"I don't want to talk to you." she stated firmly, her light blue eyes glaring down at him. He gave her a weak smile, his equally charming eyes glowing beneath the stage lights.
"Laura." His voice seemed desperate, but it was hinted with a bit of firmness. "Could you please give me and Brooke some privacy. I really need to talk to her about last night." Laura shot him a unsure smile, but obeyed, and exited the stage through the back door.
"I don't have anything to say to you, Gil Doron Ofarim." She growled, crossing her arms across her chest and staring at him with a hurt expression fixed across her face.
Gil walked closer to the stage, and leaded against it, patting the spot next to him. "Come on." he urged, "let me explain." Brooke let out a large breath of air that she had been holding in, before slowly slauntering to the edge of the stage. She plopped down on the edge, letting her feet swing over the side.
Tilting her head towards him, she snapped, "You have five minutes."
"What I did, was for your own good." Gil started, his golden locks shining beneath the lights as he gave her a weak smile. "You've got to understand the position I had to put myself in, you don't understand..." he was quickly cut off.
"What?" she spat, "I don't understand what? That you can't let go..."
"I thought I had five minutes to explain." He stated calmly, "You owe me at least that much for what I've done for you the past couple months." Brooke shook her head in disqust and she hopped off the stage. Turning she started to exit into the shadows, but Gil had grabbed onto her arm and pulled her back by him.
"I don't owe you shit." Brooke growled, trying to yank her arm away from him, but he refused to loosen his grip.
Gil set both on his hands on her shoulders and stared down into her face, as if trying to read it for the answers. "Listen, what I'm doing is only to protect you."
"Protect me?"
"Yes, from Tal. You have no idea..."
"Of what? Tally is an angel compared to you." she shot, warm, fresh tears threatening to break past her eye lids as she stared into his face. He seemed to sure of himself, that he wasn't exactly sure what he was doing.
"I don't want you getting hurt." He suddenly blurted out, "don't you realize that? I'm keeping you away from my brother because I don't want you getting hurt."
Brooke laughed at his attempt, "But what you don't understand, is that your hurting me more than words can express. You won't let me see someone that I love and that, that is wrong. It kills me."
"That's why I'm doing it!" Gil snapped, shaking her shoulder slightly, causing her to whimper in fear. "I'm doing it because I love you. Your one of my best friends.."
"Isn't it hard to blame everything on someone else? Isn't it hard to look in the mirror each day and know that your not only ruining your own life but your ruining mine and your brothers? Isn't it hard to live with yourself?" Brooke growled, ripping away from him and disappearing into the shadows.
"When you love. Nothing is hard to do." he screamed after her, as he slammed his fist into the side of the stage. Just anger with the way things had went, anger that she couldn't see it was all for her own good.
"So...you love her." he heard the harsh voice, and looked up to see Laura glaring down at him.
