| Escaflowne or Star Wars? |
| In previous entries, I�ve detailed the type of entries I have. Well, today is a theory (as normally works into all of them). But, this is a much more lighthearted theory than many of mine are.
So, today �Escaflowne as Star Wars�. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Escaflowne, it is a Japanese anime. A very good one I might add. I�ve only watched 10 episodes so far (of 26), but it�s excellent. Well, watching episode 6 or 7, I was struck by the fact that Escaflowne is very similar to Star Wars in certain regards. This led me to certain theories about what�s going to happen. If you haven�t watched Escaflowne, this will probably be a boring read, and may spoil some of the story. Reader discretion is advised. The evidence: Escaflowne: Folken has a mechanical arm. Star Wars: Darth Vader has mechanical� Well, a lot of it. Escaflowne: Folken is trying to convince his brother, Van, to join him in the Zaibach Empire. Star Wars: Darth Vader is trying to convince his son, Luke, to join him in the Empire. Escaflowne: Hitomi is falling in love with Allen, who I think is her brother. Star Wars: For a short while, there�s a Luke/Leia fling. Based on this rather poor evidence, I make these predictions: Star Wars: Darth Vader saves Luke from the Emperor, getting killed in process. Escaflowne: Folken saves Van from Dilandau, getting killed in process. Star Wars: Luke finds out that Leia is his sister, Leia falls for Han Solo. Escaflowne: Hitomi finds out that Allen is her brother, she falls for Van or Amano (which has already happened, actually�) More on this story as it develops. |
