If there is some truth to what they say about the buck determining the gender of the kids he throws...it is time for Brian to find a new home! His kids are beautful, but just yeserday we had four kids born (all boys)! Well, on the brighter side of things, it makes my herd managemnt easier as my herd is bulging at the pasture seams, so it is time for me to cut back. This way it is easier to sell the kids...I hold on to my doe kids with a firm grip as I'd love to expand the herd, but I am unable to do so without more pasture.
The four new buck kids are healthy and happy, and mommas Sweet Pucker and Ruby are doing a great job feeding them. Accolades to Ruby who had her triplet boys licked off with full bellies until I found them yesterday.
Our Jersey bull calf is adorable, so it will be difficult to sell him as he gets older. Our hiefers, Sweetart and Cindy, are growing more each day, and I am glad to announce Cindy is finally standing up for herself around the goats. They bullied her for the longest time which is completely crazy as Cindy probably has 200 pounds on each of them easy.
