The kids have offically been bit by the fort-building bug. They have forts started at school, the farm, and even in my son's room.
Li and I rode today as the weather was a comfortable 60-some degrees. The horses were well-behaved until we turned back towards the barn. Li's fingers got "tired" from holding her mare back, but we had a safe and peaceful ride.

The calf has a hernia that is pretty bad even after to tried wrapping it, so we have decided not to risk surgery. We are disapppointed, but such set-backs are typical when you raise animals. Want a lead-trained Holstein heifer with a hernia? (Try to say that fast three times!)
