Digs, Applesauce and calves....
The kids and I participated in an archeological dig to find evidence of Fort Robinson. We had a blast. I'd love to take students to the site as it is a wonderful opportunity to learn a bit from the past and how to scientifically research the physical history of an area.
Arriving sweaty and dusty from the dig, we hammered out some applesauce this afternoon. We will appreciate the effort this winter. Afterwards, my nieces and nephews came for a quick dip during which we played a game called "Minnows and Sharks". Thankfully, this minnow was safe from some sharks as I can swim the length of the pool.
Last night, we had a surprise from a friend. We are exchanging hay for a heifer calf and we also bartered for another calf. I am so thrilled. I love bartering with friends. Everyone is content without a money exchange. We are looking forward to the Swiss crosses coming to the valley this weekend.
Yesterday, I snapped the above picutre when I took four kids swimming in Sherman's Creek at Rice's Bridge. They found a deep spot, so they perfected their cannonball technique while I wandered, waded, and snapped some pictures. Enjoy!
