Ninety-nine Barred Rocks chicks are eating and running from the overzealous young visitors in the back chicken shed. They grow fast! Our red sex links started to lay this past week, so we are again appreciating fresh eggs.
We recently enjoyed a brief but memorable trip to Cape May, NJ. A small vessel named the "Fiesta" braved high winds and bouncy waves to take us to some fishing spots for 4 hours. Fisherman caught a sand shark, sea bass, sea trout and flounder. My daughter and I caught seasickness. My husband purchased a shirt with a pirate that reads "The floggings will continue until morale improves". I think I should wear that in class or at home for the kids when we suffer from the January blues....
A month before school starts and a single week before soccer begins. The kids have a challenging coach, but some may say she isn't so bad as she believes strictly in after-game ice cream stops-win OR lose.
