Documents family farm life with Boer goats and horses
Entry for November 22, 2007 Happy Thanksgiving!

What a beautiful day in Perry County with temperatures in the 60's and a breeze.  We trimmed the goats' hooves today, so the cooperative weather made us very thankful.  I am roasting my first turkey, and so far it looks great.  We are hoping it is edible.  The trees are dropping their leaves regularly, so we admired the bright yellow maple leaves being tossed in the wind as we walked to the kids to the local playground.

We are planning to AI our heifer, Cindy, next month about the time that our goat kids start to arrive.  We are truly enjoying the geldings we borrowed for the winter...see the picture for proof!  Duncan nd Domingo are camp horses, and they quiickly became part of our family.

We have just three laying hens in the backyard, but they lay too many eggs for us alone, so a neighbor is enjoying the fruit of their labor each weekend.
