Add this to the system thingy to 'boost' the speed.

FIRST, before doing anything else, set a system restore point by opening the control panel and clicking on the help and support center thingy. under "technical toolbox", and click system restore. a window pops up. click create a new restore point and do whatever it tells you to. then do all this:

click start/run.
type in "system.ini"
a notepad document pops up with some jibberish. good job!
AFTER the thing that says [386enh] ,(copy paste, for u retards its ctrl+c for copy and ctrl+v for paste) put this:

DO NOT write over ANYTHING. if you do youll screw EVERYTHING up and your computer wont work anymore. if you accidently do write over anything, close the document and DO NOT save it.

if you did do all that junk successfully, then save it and restart your computer. it goes a lil faster now. yay.
