Composition #1 The Pigman

At the end of The Pigman by Paul Zindel, Lorraine and John realize that they love Mr. Pignati like a father. Lorraine said at one point, “We just had to be honest with you because we like you more than anyone we know.” This proves that they trusted Mr. Pignati more than they trusted anybody else. John and Lorraine couldn’t talk to their parents about their problems; in a way, Mr. Pignati replaced them. “…As he took his children with him.” This means that the Pigman felt that John and Lorraine were like his children. He didn’t have a family, but the two teens were the closest he could get to one. John and Lorraine made a great impact on Mr. Pignati and vice versa; each changed the others’ lives forever.
