All the names I know from nurse- Gardener's garters, Shepards purse, Bachelor's buttons, Lady's smock And the Lady Hollyhock Fairy places, fairy things Fairy woods where the wild bee wings, Tiny trees for tiny dames These must all be fairy names! Tiny woods below whose boughs Shady fairies weave a house Tiny tree-tops, rose or thyme Where the braver fairies climb! Fair are grown-up people's trees But the fairest woods are these Where if I were not so tall I should live good and all.

A Faerie Garden
Everybody loves Fairies... I know I do, and what wouldn't be nicer than to see our little friends dancing in our gardens. Here is some tips and tricks to attract the wee folk to our gardens and make it a wonderous place to rest for them. You can start out by hanging ribbons and little bells off small trees to invite fairy guests. They can use flower stems for a staircase and leaves for a canopy. Set doll furniture chairs out or fasten them to twigs. Or place the furniture around some of the wee folk's favorite herbs.Although it is believed that rings of Moss and Mushrooms are their homes, you can create a nice getaway by by making an enclosure for you little friends by applying Mosses to the outside of a cardboard or any structure so it becomes a living chateau. Enhance the atmosphere by placing the chateau in a nice picturesque spot in your garden. Make a nice floral ring around big trees so the fairy friends can dance and sing. On May Day place little tiny sweet cakes with honey around a bed of Thyme or beneath a leafy home you have created for the fae. Go out early the next morning to see if they have been eaten! If so, it's a definite sign you have succeeded in attracting the fairies to your garden. Just becareful where you walk as not to step on one of our little friends. ~*~S~*~
