| In Folklore, a Fairy is a preternatural creature that lives on the earth and maybe helpful to humans. Fairies or Fae, are common in folklore all over the world. The fae look just like humans but are much smaller and have wings and are bound with magical powers. They can go invisible at will and go undetected in human society. They live in communities and in a place called "Fairyland", which is free from sickness and the passage of time. Very seldom do humans stumble upon such a place unless they are abducted and taken there by the fae. Other popular fairy workers include the likes of the Sprite, Leprechaun, and also the Mermaids and the Nixies which live underwater. Although the majority of fairy are the product of European folklore, beings with magical powers appear throughout the world. Some fae may not resemble the "little people" of Celtic and Saxon legend. Some say the Arabic Jin is a monsterous demon, while others perform good deeds for humans. Whatever you may call the fae, fairies, sprite, or little people; The word "Fairy" is believed to derive from the Latin fafae.
