�WHAT!� Jeff yelled. �He can�t be dead!� �No, he�s dead,� Lita assured the boy. �So who kills Hunter?� �What?� �Who kills Hunter? Is it Molly?� �Nobody kills him. He lives.� �HE WINS?� �I never said that. Now shut up.� ************************************************************** As Chris�s death cry echoed across the land, Molly�s head picked up. She turned to Crash. �Do you know that sound?� �Uh, somebody is screaming really loud?� �No, that is the sound of someone�s who heart has just been ripped apart. I made the same sound when I watched Spike die. The man in black makes it now.� �How do you know?� �His true love is marrying another tonight. Who else would have cause to make that sound? Come, we must find him.� The two traveled deep into the forest, heading towards where the sound had originated. Finally, they came upon a dark haired man pushing a wheelbarrow. �Excuse me,� Molly began. The man saw her and took off running. Molly and Crash jumped at him, tackling him. �As I was saying, can you help us? We�re looking for a man in black.� The man threw them off violently. He snarled, and then charged at Crash, who resourcefully moved and let the man run into a tree. �Okay, I was kinda hoping to keep him conscious so we could question him, but�� Crash looked at her. �What are we going to do? We can�t wait for him to wake up.� He was about to continue when he caught site of his cousin down on one knee, talking to her sword. �Spike, I need your help now. There is a man in black somewhere near here, and he can help us on our quest for vengeance. But I need your help. I need you to guide my sword Spike. I need you to show me where he is.� She stood, allowing her sword to guide her. It led her to a large, knot-covered tree, then stuck right into it. Molly laid her head against the tree. �I was so close,� she cried. �So close!� She pounded her fist against the tree, angrily, striking a single, normal looking knot. A door opened in the side of the tree. The cousins ran through the door and down into the pit. Only to find Chris�s dead body still strapped to the table. Molly looked him over. �He�s dead,� then, �get the wheelbarrow. How much money do you have?� �Not much, why?� �Let�s just hope it�s enough to buy a miracle.� Minutes later, Molly was knocking on the door to a small cottage in the Thieves� Forest. A man with his hair in a multitude of braids answered. �What, what do you want?� �Excuse me,� Molly began. �Are you the D-O-double G that used to work for the king?� �Yeah, and then his no good son fired me. Thank you so much for bringing up those memories. Now go away,� �No, please,� Molly stuck her foot in the door. �We need your help.� �Alright, come on in, but I can�t promise anything.� Molly helped Crash bring the body in and lay it across the examining table. �This man is dead. He can�t be.� The Road Dogg looked over the body. �What does he have to live for?� �He has a wife who�s very, very sick,� Molly answered. �His children have no one�� �Whoa, whoa, whoa,� Dogg stopped her. �You�d better never play poker if you lie like that.� �I need him to help me avenge the death of my true love.� �Your first story was better.� The Dogg pulled out a bellows and shoved them into Chris�s mouth. �Anyway, he�s not really dead. He�s only mostly dead. Mostly dead and all dead are two different things.� He pumped the bellows twice, the removed them. �HEY, YOU,� he yelled at Chris, �WHAT HAVE YOU GOT THAT�S WORTH LIVING FOR?� He pressed on Jericho�s chest. As the air rushed out they heard him whisper �Truuuuue Looooooove.� �There, he said �True Love�� Molly exclaimed. �You can�t think of a cause more worthy than that.� �True love, well yes, true love is the most noble cause in the world. However, he said �To blathe�, which of course means, to lie. You were probably playing cards and he cheated and�� There was an interruption of someone screaming �LIAR!� A woman came rushing in, pointing at the Road Dogg. �LIAR!� �Go away, witch!� �I�m not a witch, I�m your wife. He said true love, you heard it!� The woman turned to Molly and Crash. �You have to understand, he�s lost his confidence. Ever since he was fired by that bastard, Hunter,� �LUNA, I TOLD YOU NEVER TO USE THAT NAME IN MY PRESENCE!� �HUNTER!� Luna cried, chasing her husband. �HUNTER, HUNTER, HUNTER, HUNTER!� Molly interrupted them �If you bring this man back, he will stop Hunter�s wedding.� The husband and wife stopped. The Dogg looked at Molly. �You mean, he�ll make my sworn enemy miserable? Now that is a noble cause!� Half an hour later, Dogg and Luna were putting the final touches on a small pill. �That�s a miracle pill?� Molly asked. Luna smiled at her. �Chocolate helps it go down better.� Dogg took the pill and handed it to Crash. �Give this to him and wait six hours for full potency. Oh, and he shouldn�t go swimming for at least half an hour after taking this.� The cousins thanked Dogg and Luna and, taking the body along with them, headed off to the castle. �Have fun storming the castle!� Dogg yelled. �Think they�ll make?� Luna whispered to him. �It�d take a miracle.� |
