Such an appropriate phrase
The stalker of many
The prey of the brave
The hot burning stench
Of the dragon's fiery breath
Promising nothing but an excrutiation death.
While mythical in reality
Their fiery breath still exists
To test the courage of many
The bold, the brave, the best.
Any firefighter will tell you
It's a living, breathing thing
An entity unto itself
A Demon from below
When It looks at you,
And look at you it will,
You know you have seen
Into the bowels of Hell.
It takes a mite of courage
To back down this Beast
To have an understanding of where it will go next.
The dangers are plenty,
The bold must be strong
In but a blink of an eye
The dragon has won.
Thank God for the men and women
Who brave this fiery Beast
Their knowledge and tenacity
A rugged match for the flames
The Dragons of Fire proclaim.
Their wits and intelligence
Courage and honor
Put down this Beast with disgrace and dishonor
The Dragons of Fire are no match for the bold
They conquer the Demons
Snuff out it's breath
With a pride and honor to the death.
They come from all walks of life
Towns, counties and states,
To keep us all safe from a horrible Fate.
It matters not what department they represent,
Nor Volunteer, paid, that matters not one bit.
They give of themselves
Sometimes with the ultimate sacrifice,
For the sake of the possible lives they may save.
These men and women deserve our praise
The very ones who face down the Dragons of Fire, their deadly blaze.
They do so with an honor we can all be proud of
For without them
Our lives would never be free
Of the Dragons of Fire.
