Jon is Garfield's owner, and he is a total dork. He gets excited to play chess by MAIL. He can never get a date, only Liz because the pities him. Maybe thats why he has Odie and Garfield, because he is lonely. He is a cartoonist, and loves to diet to Garfield's horror. His fist appearance was on June 19, 1978, in the same comic strip as Garfield's debute. Even though he's continually stuck in his geeky ways, he provides food, shelter, and love for his pets, and in return, they love him.
