Garfield,as you know, is the main character. He was born(well, his 1st appearance was) on June 19, 1978. He was born in an Italian resteraunt, but was taken to a pet store where Jon purchased him. He now still lives with Jon, his nerdy owner, and Odie, a dog so dumb that he gives the show Two stupid Dogs a good name. But deepdown, through all of his sarcasm and comical jabs, he must admit that he loves them. Jim's grandfather, James A. Garfield Davis, had the same sarcasm and personality as out favorite orange cat. It seemed to be the perfect name. Jim said in an interview: "He's just a human in a cat suit." Maybe that's why we love him! Hence, a star is born
