Mathew wasn't keen on the idea of testing, in case it wasn't positive, then we would be down all night. I didn't really think we were pregnant, so I told him I was prepared for that, and besides, I had chocolate!
We headed home and began watching "The Notebook". Halfway through the movie Mathew said "Aren't you going to test?" I said, "I guess so. I have to go to the bathroom anyway", so I headed off to pee on a stick.
Almost immediatly the 2 lines appeared! I was in shock! I couldn't believe my eyes. I opened the bathroom door and Mathew called from the couch "Well?" and I yelled "COME HERE!"
He came into the bathroom and was in disbelief too when I showed him the test and said "There's 2 lines! Can you see them!" He saw them, but didn't know what to think! He took out the instructions from the box and kept wondering if it was all correct.
We both hugged and jumped up and down. I was crying and saying "We're going to have a baby? We're going to have a baby!! OH MY GOD WE'RE GOING TO HAVE A BABY!" I remember shaking and crying out of shock, surprise and happiness.
We went back to the living room (test in hand, I wouldn't put it down) and we tried to continue the movie, but there was no way I could concentrate! So we headed to McNally Robinson and I bought a pregnancy book.
The next morning Mathew made me take the 2nd test from the box, so he could compare. (the scientist he is), and the line was there, just as dark as the night before.
That day I had to go to a teacher's conference, and keep my secret to myself. It was so hard to not say anything at all to my friends! It was also hard concentrating on the sessions, knowing that I wouldn't be doing a Christmas concert at school the next year, because I was going to have a baby!!
