| No, I don't want to think of myself as queer. You see...to me, queer means weird, strange, or odd. Homosexuality is just as natural to me as being straight...so I prefer not to label myself as queer. However, I have no problem with other people labeling themselves as queer. For the sake of diplomacy...I will place myself under the queer umbrella from time to time. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| The pink triangle was a symbol given to gays by the Nazis. This was thier handy identification tag...similar to the Star of David for Jewish people. This bothered me for awhile...but I've gotten over it with the realization that it is good to take a bad symbol and use it to draw pride. Thus making the bad a good. Something that disturbs me quite a bit lately is the straightening of the Holocaust. I barely knew that gay people were involved in the Holocaust at all...since the history texts place this fact into a tiny paragraph with all of the other non-Jewish minorities. I feel that this is not fair...and if students are going to study the Holocaust at all...they should study all aspects of it. Check out the book The Pink Triangle for more info. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Gaydar is an abbreviation for "Gay Radar." It is commonly used to describe the phenomenon of gay people being able to tell if another person is gay or straight. Not all GLBT people have Gaydar. Similarly...I know some straight females with great Gaydar. I, myself, had terrible Gaydar until I got to college. Now, I'm a pro...honed Gaydar and all. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Did you know...that June is National GLBT pride month? It used to be. George, our current president has changed that. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| I really love seeing two guys kiss. I also like to see two girls kiss (but for different reasons). Two guys kissing turns me on (in some cases, at least)...whereas, two girls kissing seems to be the truest form of affection that a person can find. Encourage your GLBT friends with significant others to smooch in public. No hardcore making out, mind you, but a visible smooch will go a long way toward educating the world. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| My views on being out. -Being out makes life easier...no more Superman and Clark Kent routine. -Being out makes people think and question their beliefs. -Being out makes other GLBT and questioning people realize that there is nothing wrong or shameful about being GLBT. -Being out will help make day to day life for GLBT youth easier in the future. They will have someone that they know they can ask questions to. --among other reasons. |

| Did you know...that gay rights in Germany right before the Holocaust were further advanced than gay rights in any country today? Very interesting, huh? I am all for the education of GLBTQ people of their history and heritage. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
