| HEAT Results -- September 9, 2001 HEAT began with the continuation of the World Wrestling Federation's war with the Alliance as Spike Dudley took on Chuck Palumbo. The powerful Palumbo threw the 150-pound Spike around like a rag doll in the early going until a headbutt into Palumbo's midsection turned the tables. But Palumbo's strength was too much for the gutsy Spike. One superkick to Spike's face won the match for Palumbo and the Alliance. Booker was seen telling himself he's a better man than The Rock could ever be, and that he remembered all the times he won the WCW Title. He continued by telling himself that The Rock is a Booker wannabe and that he would take care of him at Unforgiven. Days after the Dudley Boyz put him through a table, Tajiri (with Torrie Wilson by his side), had to face the Alliance's Tommy Dreamer with taped ribs. Dreamer targeted Tajiri's injured ribs throughout the match, but Tajiri was able to kick out after each one of Dreamer's high-impact moves. Trapped in a bear hug, Tajiri escaped by biting Dreamer's nose and nearly won after a handspring elbow. Dreamer came back to plant Tajiri with a DDT, which sent Tajiri out of the ring. After Torrie helped her man back in, she distracted Dreamer enough to leave him open for Tajiri's vicious kick, which won the match for the Japanese Buzzsaw, who nearly fainted after Torrie kissed him! In the back, Booker expressed his frustration with the fans chanting The Rock's name, and said he was heading to Texas for RAW IS WAR to kick The Rock's ass. HEAT's feature match was Kanyon's defense of the WCW U.S. Championship against Scotty 2 Hotty. Scotty had things well in hand until Kanyon delivered a back superplex from the second rope. Scotty came back with a powerbomb to halt Kanyon's momentum. After a Scotty bulldog, it was time for the WORM! But seconds later, Kanyon locked Scotty in position and finished him with the Flatliner to retain the WCW U.S. Championship. An upset Booker T was seen storming out of WWF New York en route to San Antonio for RAW while Cole and Snow gave a rundown of Unforgiven and the Stone Cold Steve Austin-Kurt Angle vendetta SmackDown! last week. |
