The Ring: Intervention by Q'wellen
From the Chronicles of Myra Sunveil
Q'wellen had taken to running almost continual patrols of The Glade lately. With so many Elves out of the area searching for Joylah, it was more important than ever to keep a close eye on things. Luckily Allanen and a few others were still about, but even Aramir had left to take up the search.
The night had been long and Q'wellen was particularly tired. Several undead had escaped from the crpyts; again. He had also run across two brigand camps near The Arrow. Finally several ogres and ettin had come down to cause havoc near the Justice Shrine.
Bone weary and needing rest Q'wellen's spirits were lifted when he heard someone playing a soft melody on a harp nearby. Not really paying attention, Q'wellen followed the music while walking along the water's edge. As he began to relax he noticed Glor sitting quietly, watching the Sun rise in the east.
Seeing the pain etched on his friend's face, Q'wellen decided not to distrub him.
As Q'wellen turned to walk quietly away, Glorfindle rose from his seat. Q'wellen wasn't sure, but he thought he heard Glor whisper a few words, and then Glor drew back and hurled something out into the waters. Q'wellen normally tried not to interfere in the lives of his friends, but he felt something important was happening here.
Q'wellen quickly uttered words of power "Bela ed' templa"; and as whatever it was Glor had thrown hit the water, Q'wellen grabbed it with telekinesis.
As the spell dropped the object in his hand he recognized it as the ring he hed seen Myra wearing in the Arrow on several occasions.
Sadness added to the weariness Q'wellen already felt. "Amin nauva tessa sina ten'lle, Mellon'amin, Mela has a men en entulien iire lle least duil ta; ar'lle aa' anta sina n'alaquel,"* Q'wellen whispered. As he watched Glor turn away, he placed the ring on a necklace which placed around his neck.
As Q'wellen returned home, he prayed silently to Tethrin for all his friends in the Glade. "I pray that some joy will find the Glade soon for truly sadness has fallen on us like a plague."
*(I will hold onto this for you my friend, Love has a way of returning when you least expect it; and you may need this back.)
