Grissom shook his head, looking down. "The last part may or may not be true, but I'm not in love...that ended a long time ago."

Placing a hand on his arm, she looked into his eyes. "Yes," she insisted. "You are. She's a lucky girl; don't let her get away, Grissom."

"But what if--"

"You can't be afraid to try. I did," Natasha smiled and Grissom offered her one too before standing. "I have to go," he said. "The lab..."

Standing as well, Natasha hugged him, burying her head into his chest, breathing in his scent and burning it in her memory. "The lab...please, chase your dreams, Grissom?" she asked and he hugged her back, nodding. "I'll try."

"Will I ever see you again?"

"With my line off work, I hope not."

The next morning, Natasha got up and opened her front door to find a single rose by her door and a card. 'What's this?' she wondered as the dawn breeze whipped her hair. As she opened the card, she realised what it said.

Dear Steward,

I'm bad with words, remember I deal with the dead and bugs. I just wanted to say...thank you. You opened my eyes to see what was right in front of me and there is nothing I can do to repay you. You are not a comet, but a star; guiding lost saliors on their way home.

~Gil Grissom

Looking up, a shooting star crossed into the dawn and Natasha smiled, not knowing that Grissom was looking at the same star with a smile on his face as well.
