Riding in the black Tahoe, Catherine waited for Grissom to start talking. "The Roberts case, the missing baby," he started and Catherine sat still, waiting. "A witness came in, Natasha Steward."

The slightly younger CSI nodded. "Warrick said she was quite the looker. A little young though," I said and he sighed. "Yes."

"And?"

"And we went to the opera."

"And...?"

Silence. Then. "We...were intimate," he said softly. "Briefly...I told her about Sara and she told me to go back to her. That it'd be better for us both. That I was still in love with her. I was then. She also knew how I felt about my work. I'm old enough to be her father, Cath but...I can't forget her."

"Grissom, you're not going through a midlife crisis are you?" I smiled and he chuckled a little. "Maybe, but you have to help me...I'm...woefully inexperianced in this area."

"So because I'm the stripper, I get drafted?" I asked, slightly annoyed and he shook his head. "Think about who I trust: the whole team. Now think about who I'm closest to."

"Warrick?"

"You, Cath. Plus, I really don't know how to deal with women and isn't the best way to learn is to go to the source?"

Laughing, I patted him on the shoulder. "You're forgiven and I'm honored. But I have to ask; what's up with you and Sara?"

"Nothing, now."

"I know that but what went wrong."

We were outside of his town house in the driveway, the glow of the street lamps distant. It was nearly 2am. "She wants all of me. Now. Right now. She wants me to be everything I'm not. I have my own brand of romance, Catherine."

I snorted. "I didn't know you had any. No offense Grissom, but you...don't deal with people well. But Natasha has changed your whole mindset?" I asked, skeptically.

More silence. "I think so," he said softly, head bowed. "I haven't cried in a long time, Cath. A very long time. But I do when I think about her. When I think of what I could be. When I think that I've hurt her..."

'Grissom? Crying? I didn't think it was possible...but be real Catherine, he's human, no matter how much of a scientist he is. I can't believe I forgot that.' "So do you think she feels the same way?"

"I'm willing to face...whatever she has to say."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes."

"So sure that you're preparing for sex now?"

Laughing, Grissom shook his head. "This has been a long time coming. Sara and I don't work for more than one reason."

I fought a smile. I had heard about Grissom's...lack of experiance from Sara. 'Willing but...cumbersome? Isn't that what she said? Ah well, we all can't be Casonova.' "Well, in that case, are you sure about this? I don't want any akwardness afterwards and you are my boss," I asked and he shrugged. "I won't have any issues later. I think. So you'll teach me?"

"Yeah. Come on, let's go inside."

'What the hell am I getting myself into?'
