Crimson Room from Tagaki
When teacher introduced this game to us at the first time, it impressed me most because this game intrigue my curiosity to play more and more and try to figure out what the clue could be. In the beginning, I like the atmosphere when the game is about to start. The screen turns to be totally dark with a series of words, and it creates the prologue of suspected atmosphere. In other words, it makes me feel being captured in unknown chaos. As far as I’m concerned, I think the game can be extended two ideas which make me think of: superficial things in the world and the people who suffer from autism.
As we can see, there are many clues concealed in a simple room. Thus, we have to employ our intelligence to figure out where and how the clues could be. When I’m looking for these possible elements or places for the clues, I am usually surprised by the way I find out one clue and more. Usually, the way of their being found is not as usual as I thought. Generally speaking, people used to see superficial or ostensible things; however, people always ignore the underlying fact. For instance, I consider that mass media always have the great skills and make good use to publicize the “fact” which may not accord with the real truth indeed. Actually, there are many things which are different from what we originally think they should be. People usually have a bad habit of setting a given stereotype on others or some events, trusting those biased comments, editorials and news. Instead, we can try to look thing in another way since we’ve received a great amount of education and knowledge so as to cultivate our self-individuality and self-thoughts. The mass people should not be controlled as the puppets by so-called authority. We see in our eyes, believe our own beliefs, and I am sure that the real fact and truth will appear in front of us automatically.
Second, it reminds me of some people who suffer autism. Through the window, the one who is captured still seems to have connection with the world physically because he can see those lively life and concrete buildings out of the window. However, if the one still can’t find a way away from the room, he or she will be tortured by the anxiety of being captured in the crimson room. That is, if he or she is still tormented by his melancholy and autism, he or she will never step out the room of their heart. They have to undo their emotional knot by themselves. As the saying goes,” God helps those who help themselves.” Perhaps when we are in the process of finding way out the room, we’ll become anxious and tired. Nevertheless, as long as we keep finding and exploring the roots of many problems we are facing, we can trace back and try to solve it much easier and simpler and I believe that God will show a miracle in front of us.
