Her grandfather had been a policeman but when his daughter had died with her husband in a fire, he retired to raise his granddaughter, Sofia. Pete Sanders had an opinion about everything, and Sofia listened to them. With the help of her grandfather, Sofia was able to make it through her parents deaths and the next few years of her life without too much trauma. She was also very successful in her school work and upon graduation from high school, was accepted to MIT where she majored in Political Science. She continued her education into law school at Harvard after which she was offered a position as a lawyer for a large public relations firm in New York. Sofia stayed in New York for three years. It was at this time that she met her sometimes lover Lapskovic who had to travel to the states from Europe every so often. That small relationship was enough for Sofia who was more interested in expanding her contacts than in romance. After a while, she decided to apply for a position with the NDIC. The reason? She was qualified, and on a more personal note, quite a few of her clients from Hanson and Wells, the PR firm she was working for, had died from drug overdoses. She might have been able to save them from prison, but not from death. The change in position was brought on by guilt. She followed that guilt all the way to Los Angeles where she was placed by the department. Her training having been completed, the year before and she was thrust into the field with the codename of Alice, short for Alice in Wonderland, because of her seeming dazed disposition. |
