Runners: Syndicate(Dave Sinn) The Syndicate is an extremely large criminal organization lead by one known to the majority of his underlings as the Big Man. His real name is Isaiah Tempest, an extremely wealthy man who has a great hunger for power. He is ruthless, coniving, efficiant, and dangerous, just as he expects his followers to be. His elite soldiers, his personal hitsquad, is the Smiling Jacks, formerly a band of five men who are very talented proffesional killers. They were Maxwell Cordell (leader), Robert Deraimus, James Richard Deraimus, Sirus "Preacher" Callahan, and Johnny "Bedlam" Kutter. All five were killed in a massive battle in Texas, by three men. David "D." Stanton, Victor Vincent, and another unidentified man. These three have been put on the Syndicates highest primority for assassination list. Tempest is now looking to re-enlist men and women for the Smiling Jacks. Aside from the Smiling Jack, Mr Blue the Syndicate contact man, and the Stormtech board, nobody knows who Tempest is. The Syndicate is into everything, guns, drugs, prostitution, murder, you name it. Any illegal activity you can think of, they have a hand in it. They are primarily based out of the Los Angeles area, but can be found nearly anywhere due to Tempest mass influence and lust for domination. The Syndicate goes against the traditional family aspect of other organized crime groups. Their ranks are very diverse, having some of the most diabolical killers and madmen. But, that's not to say the Syndicate is full of psychotics, it is actually quite the opposite. The good life, luxury, money, and power, these are the things the Syndicate craves and they don't care how they get it. Isaiah Tempest has a front for the Syndicate, a large defense corporation known as Stormtech. They deal in advanced research and development of aero-ballistics, hydrodynamics, and directed energy devices. Every member of the board is a member of the Syndicate. The board numbers at eight, though Tempest still has the final say. If you cross the Sydicate, you had better find the darkest hole on earth to hide in. They have vast connections, resources, and soldiers. The Syndicate will hunt a person to the ends of the earth, relentlessly, torturing them in the most horrifying manners when they catch up to them. They are opposed in Los Angeles by only minor gangs, the Crypts, Bloods, Latin Kings, and the remnants of the L.A. Yakuza. Though, wars between these groups keeps the Syndicate from having any real threat in L.A. Their main goal is to expand their territory. They currently have their sites set on New Orleans and Las Vegas, often sending people to cuase mayhem and destruction to weaken the Devereux clan and Vincetti mob. The Syndicate is a whole. There are no offshoot gangs, but there is a group of the best killers in the Syndicate.
The Smiling Jacks: These are the best of the best, within the Syndicate. Killers without remorse who are given the most important tasks in the Syndicate. These are the generals of the massive criminal machine. They are master combatants, all are the sickest of minds. Their place of contact is Jack's Laundromat. As well, this is where the Jacks meet to discuss their buisness and bring prisoners for torture. They are lead by Daniel Alexander, the bastard son of the secretive Syndicate boss, Isaiah Tempest. In all, there are ten Jacks. So far, only three are on the roster. |
