Arturo de Soto was the only son of Miguel de Soto outside Barcelona. A noble family before the Franco wars, but managed to keep their lands by supporting the dictator. The family continued to reap the benefit of extensive lands with suppling horses and wheat. Young Arturo was sent to a military school after being caught with some of the maids and local girls at the young age of 12. Finishing near the top of his class, he entered the military after graduation and managed to land a spot in Spain's special forces. Arturo wasn't really interested in serving his country, however. Despite excelling in small arms and self-defense, his primary goal had been money. Despite his family's money, he knew horse sales have been declining in recent years. There was much more money elsewhere. Being in special forces allowed him access to unique weaponary. Arturo ended up making quite a bit my sneaking certain arms out of the base, selling them to various terrorist groups to be dismantled and then copied. To his frustration though, he simply wasn't making enough money. To not get caught, he had to move slowly. So when Al-Quaida came poking around for information, Aruto jumped at the chance. With his clearance, he could get them train information which lead to the distruction of those unfortunate trains. Unfortunate for Arturo, as he was dishonorably discharged. Though the military could no pin anything on him, they knew he had been stealing the weapons. Luckily for him, he was never connected to the terrorist attack on the trains else he would have been hung for treason. Still, his father banished him from his family lands for the dishonorable discharge. Luckily, the terrorist money had not been traced to his off shore accounts. Heading to Cuba, he lived in luxury there for a few months before becoming bored. While feeling out for something to start making money again, he was contacted by some of the rebels of Costa Rica. They were buying AK's from the Cubans, but needed something heavier that Castro was unwilling to provide. Asking for a chance to provide them with some motars and 20mm's, he went back to those same groups he had stolen the guns for. His previous contacts enabled him to supply the rebels with what they needed. The Costa Ricians introduced him to the rebels in neighboring countries as well. The terrorist though, didn't have access to the best things. As the rebels won more and more, they had access to more money and needed better arms. Thus brings Arturo to New Orleans, as the ruling family there was rumored to have some hot shot weaponsmith on their payroll. |
