Our Tryouts

Tryouts took place at Summit Elementary School. 14 kids tried out, but only 12 made the team, meaning two were to be cut. People who tried out were Brady, Gavin, Mike, Adam, Ryan, Alex, Nate, Garrett, Sam, Vince, Dylan, Luke, Nick, and Austin. Independent evaluators took charge in who would make the team, and the coaches had no say whatsoever in the team, but ran all the drills. At the tryouts, we tried to impress the evaluators with our ball handling, shooting, passing, defense, quickness, heart & will, and anything else we could give. At the end of the night, the evaluators selected people to be cut, and they discussed who they thought should not make the team.

Preseason Predictions

Last season was a successful one. We played in 6 tournaments as well as the WIBL "B" League. We finished second in 4 tournaments; 2 in the same weekend including our own Cooney Classic Tournament. We won another tournament and came in 6th place in one of the later tournaments last season. This year, we are a very short team, so we will definently struggle against taller teams, but I think we have the will to play great defense to stay in games. We will have to be very scrappy, and then pulling games out at the end. We should definently win a few games and maybe a tournament or two, and hopefully finish above .500 for the season. That is a good goal for our team to set.

Season

  • First Practice

We had our first practice the 18th of October. Our team was very sloppy and raw, but hey, its just our first practice, right?

1st Game of Season: Oconomowoc vs. Waukesha North

Our first game was awesome. We won 30-18 against Waukesha North. They were not a very good team, but they were very big and only one or two of there guys were smaller than 5'4", but we played physical and got a lot of steals for easy buckets. Plus, Garrett and Vince Stocke forgot about our game, which made us even smaller, though they came for the second half. Gavin Liesener and Ryan Prom both had early steals that they took for layups to help jump out to a 6-0 lead early in the first quarter. From there, we never looked back. With the help of Sam Loppnow's rebounds and steals, and with Dylan Rector's 6 points we kept our lead to halftime. In the second half, we got the ball to Nate Zastrow, who finished with 8 points. At the end of the 3rd Quarter, Garrett Stocke hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer. Alex Lavine's late baskets and Adam Shea, Luke Bakkum, and Brady Nold's defense ensured our victory late in the game.

  • Arrowhead Tournament (1st Tournament)

    • 1st Game: Oconomowoc vs. Brookfield Central

The first game of the tournamount was on Friday, the 24th of November. We played against Brookfield Central without Mike Schulz. Last year when we played this team, we got beat by about 20 or 30, so we knew it was going to be tough to win. We came prepared. We got off to a poor start though, throwing the ball away plenty of times early in the game against their press, and got down big early. However, we bounced back to trail 12-17 after the 1st half of play. Then we really got started, and Nate Zastrow, who finished with 11 points, started to get going. Sam Loppnow added eight, including 2-2 from the line. In the second half, after a Nate Zastrow basket, Luke Bakkum hit a 3-pointer to tie the game at 17. Then we took our first lead of the game with 9:39 left in the second half, 19-17. Alex Lavine, Garrett Stocke, and Gavin Liesener all added a free throw to help out the team, and with the help of great team defense at the end of the game, we held Brookfield Central to 5 points in the second half. We won the game 25-22, a great victory that put us on the right track for the rest of the tournament.

    • 2nd Game: Oconomowoc vs. East Troy

We played our second game that Friday night as well, against East Troy. Missing Sam Loppnow and Mike Schulz, we knew it was going to be tough, but we came out and jumped to an early lead. Luke Bakkum hit two three pointers in the first half, and Ryan Prom had two outside jumpers as well as a free throw. Nate Zastrow added 7 points in the first half to help lead the way. At the end of the first half, we were up by 14, 29-15. Nate Zastrow had 13 points to lead all scores, and Ryan Prom finished with 9. Both Gavin Liesener and Luke Bakkum had 6 points and Garrett Stocke hit two clutch free throws late. With 4:39 left to play, we had a comfortable lead at 38-29, but that lead quickly diminished as it was cut to 2 with 59 seconds left. With 10 seconds left, the score was 43-39 Oconomowoc, which was the final score of the game.

    • 3rd Game: Oconomowoc vs. New Berlin

Our third game was very important for many reasons. First of all, nobody wants to lose, and they especially do not want to lose if they get to play another game if they win, and that is exactly what we were playing for. Our third and final game against a team in our pool came against the New Berlin Vikings. The game was close throughout, especially in the first half, when the scores went back and forth. At halftime, we were down 16-17. Thats when we really picked up the intensity. Gavin Liesener had a three pointer and led all scores with seven points and Ryan Prom went 4 for 4 from the free throw line, and finished with four points. With 2 minutes left in the game, we had a 31-26 lead. However, New Berlin came back and took the lead 32-31 with 40.5 seconds left. They took the lead once again 33-32 with 10 seconds left in the game. Then, with 7.1 seconds left in the game, Alex Lavine inbounded the ball on the other side of the court, got the ball back right away and dribbled all the way down the court. As he approached the hoop, he took a double-hitch lay-up and put it in at the BUZZER! We won 34-33! "I was originally going down hoping the guy would come on me so I could pass it to Nate," said Lavine, "but when the guy just stood there, I said 'okay' and took it all the way." The team stormed out onto the court and Alex was caught in a bear hug. That was truly a remarkable game.

    • 4th Game: Oconomowoc vs. Hartland Arrowhead

In our 4th game, we had to play Arrowhead, our enemy. The last 2-3 games, we have lost by 20 or more against them. We came in very intense, but not very confident. Arrowhead had about 3 people over 6 ft. and one of their point guards was as tall as our forwards, Vince and Garrett Stocke. In the first half we stayed with them quite well, leading for much of it. Vince and Garrett Stocke played great in the first half against the tall people, and combined for 6 points. At the end of the half, we were only down 14-16. In the second half, Gavin Liesener and Luke Bakkum hit 3 pointers and both had 5 points. However, Arrowhead's size and athletism was too much for us as they just kept on scoring at will. They scored 33 in the second half on our way to a 28-49 loss.

Unfortunately, we did not make it to the championship game, but we can say that we lost only to the best team in the tournament because Arrowhead ended up winning it all. Overall, it was a very successful tournament that really raised our expectations and confidence.

  • WIBL Game: Oconomowoc vs. Pewaukee

We played our 2nd WIBL game at Waukesha West High School vs. Pewaukee. We jumped out to an early 9-0 lead and it looked as though we were going to dominate, but Pewaukee worked their way back to pull within 3 at 10-7. Garrett Stocke had two nice baskets underneath early and at the end of the quarter it was 12-7, our lead. In the second quarter Nate Zastrow and Ryan Prom came alive and had a combined ten points in the quarter. However, our team was only up 8, 24-16, at halftime. We knew that Pewaukee was not a very good team and we could play much better, so we started playing harder. Sam Loppnow and Vince Stocke each had an And 1 play as we jumped to a 37-20 lead at the end of the 3rd. In the fourth, Nate Zastrow had 4 of his 10 points and Mike Schulz added two free throws. We finished the game strong and won 49-29.
  • WIBL Game: Oconomowoc vs. Sussex Hamilton

We played our 3rd WIBL game at Center Court against Sussex Hamilton. We came out fired up jumping out to a 13-4 lead at the end of the first quarter, mainly because of center Nate Zastrow. Zastrow finished with a season high 15 points that game. However, in the second and third quarter we struggled a bit as they slowly worked their way back as we held on to a slim 22-21 lead. Gavin Liesener hit a three pointer to spark a fourth quarter run with excellent passing. We outscored Sussex 11-4 in the fourth as we came up with our 6th win of the season, 33-25.

WIBL Game: Oconomowoc vs. Whitefish Bay

In our second game of the day, we took on Whitefish Bay. Both teams wanted this win badly and it showed on the court. However, there could only be one winner. We battled hard and pulled out the victory 27-18, mostly in part to our great defense. We struggled early as Whitefish Bay jumped out to a 12-10 lead at halftime. Then we turned it on, not only on offense but on defense as well. Nate Zastrow dominated the middle with the help of great passing by Alex Lavine. Ryan Prom hit a turn-around three to also help the cause, and Brady Nold, Mike Schulz, Sam Loppnow, and Garrett Stocke led the defense, which only gave up 2 points in the third quarter and only 6 in the second half. Sam Loppnow and Garrett Stocke finished with four points, Ryan Prom had 5 and Nate Zastrow led all scores with a second big game in a row with 14 points. After the game, #23 on Whitefish Bay was frustrated and said, "We should have won that game, they suck." Everybody laughed knowing the score was 27-18, an another Oconomowoc victory. We are now 7-1, including 4-0 in the WIBL.

  • Waukesha South Tournament

    • 1st Game: Oconomowoc vs. Appleton East

In our first game of our Waukesha South tournament, we faced a talented Appleton East team. They came out fired up; we did not. Appleton East pressured and used a great press as Oconomowoc fell to an early 4-14 deficet. From there we could never catch up. Nate Zastrow scored a few buckets inside, but that was one of the few bright spots about this game. At halftime, the score was 11-29 in favor of Appleton East. We held on though, only losing by 3 in the second half to have a final score of 21-42. Nate Zastrow finished with 10 points, and Luke Bakkum added a 3. Alex Lavien, Gavin Liesener, Ryan Prom, and Vince Stocke all had 2 points.

    • 2nd Game: Oconomowoc vs. Elgin, Il

Our next game, we faced Elgin, Il. We came our firing as we jumped to an early 12-5 lead. Nate Zastrow dominated the paint and had 13 in the first half! We had a comfortable halftime lead of 21-11. In the second half we really poured it on. Alex Lavine made some excellent passes to Sam Loppnow who scored 10 in the second half. Also Gavin Liesener went two for two from the line. We had a 31-17 lead with 9:38 seconds. Nate Zastrow led all scores with 19, and Sam Loppnow added 10 as we finished victorious 45-21.

    • 3rd Game: Oconomowoc vs. Muskego

Our 3rd and final game came against Muskego. Early on we struggled falling behind by 6. Garrett and Vince Stocke contributed greatly in the first half with a combined 15. Sam Loppnow played great defense against the Muskego all-star #20. We led at halftime 23-17. In the second half, Alex Lavine added four points and Ryan Prom hit two back to back three pointers to spark a run in the second half that led to a 41-34 Oconomowoc victory. Garrett Stocke led the team with 12 points and Sam Loppnow, Ryan Prom, and Nate Zastrow added 6 points a piece.

Because we lost our first game to Appleton East, and they won the rest of their games, we were not able to get another game, but we did play well. Winning 2 out of 3 in any tournament is impressive.

  • WIBL Game: Oconomowoc vs. Menomonee Falls

Between games in our Waukesha South tournament, we had a WIBL game against Menomonee Falls. We jumped out early and dominated the whole game. They made a late run, but we held on and won 49-37.

*Book was not recorded for this game.

  • WIBL Game: Oconomowoc vs. Milwaukee Lutheran

On Sunday evening, we played against a very talented Milwaukee Lutheran team. However, we came out on fire and lit them up from beyond the arc. Dylan Rector hit a three in the corner, and then at the end of the half made another one at the buzzer!!! It was awesome. Brady Nold also hit a three in the first half. Anuway, we got up 15 or so, and never looked back. Ryan Prom hit a three pointer early in the second half and Nate Zastrow dominated the middle. Everyone except Adam Shea and Luke Bakkum scored, led by Dylan Rector with 10 points, Ryan Prom with 9, and Nate Zastrow with 8. We won 50-27, a complete blowout.

  • Kettle Moraine Tournament

    • First Game: Oconomowoc vs. Franklin Gold

Our first game in the tournament, we were very sore because all of our team was in a school tournament the day before and played 5 games. Anyway, we faced the Franklin "A" team and they were good. However, we jumped out to a nice lead with baskets by Sam Loppnow and Garrett Stocke. Then they came back. Garrett Stocke tied the game at 11-11 with a steal and a layup with 7:39 left in the first half. Luke Bakkum also hit a three. We were down though 17-19 at halftime. It went back and forth as we eventually took a 24-23 lead, but it wasn't enough. Garrett Stocke finished with 7 points and Sam Loppnow had 6 to lead the way in our 27-39 defeat.

    • Second Game: Oconomowoc vs. Fond du Lac

After coming off a losing effort, we knew we needed to win to stay alive in the tournament. Nate Zastrow started off very strong scoring 8 points in the first half and Ryan Prom added a three. However, we still found ourself down 19-20 at halftime. Alex Lavine had a nice 2nd half and finished with 10 points. Nate Zastrow had 8 points and Garrett Stocke had 7. We were still in the game with 4:30 left down 26-32. However, with 52 seconds we were down 8, leading to our second loss in a row. It was our first 2-game losing streak of our season.

    • Third Game: Oconomowoc vs. Milton

After losing our first two games, we went to the losers bracket. There we played against Milton. We came out hot and we were up by more then 10 at the beginning of the game because of Nate Zastrow, Garrett Stocke, and Vince Stocke scoring a combined 16 points. Luke Bakkum also hit a three. However, they came back and our lead was only 23-20 at halftime. In the second half, it got really interesting. Ryan Prom nailed a three and Zastrow continued to work inside and finished with 14. With 45 seconds left, it was all tied up 41-41. Milton stayed up top and ran the clock down, but with 18 seconds left, Vince Stocke got a steal but missed the layup on the other end. Luckily, Garrett Stocke was there to put it back in and we were up 43-41. Then with 3 seconds left, Alex Lavine took in a layup to seal the deal. We one our first game of the tournament, 45-41.

    • Fourth Game: Oconomowoc vs. Lake Geneva

We played our final game of the day against Lake Geneva. Coach Prom promised no practice in return of a win. We pounced on them. Ryan started it off with a turn-around jumper, and Nate Zastrow, Luke Bakkum, Brade Nold, Vince Stocke, Mike Schulz, Sam Loppnow, Gavin Liesener, and Dylan Rector all scored in the first half. Less then 5 minutes into the game, we were up 10-0. With 10 minutes left in the half, we had extended our lead 18-0, the best start we've ever had. We led 32-11 in the first half! Lake Geneva was no match for us as we rolled over them 44-28. Leading scorers included Vince Stocke with 9, Zastrow with 8, and Sam Loppnow with 5. Everybody except Adam Shea scored in this game.

This tournament was hopefully our last bad one. We did not play well the first two games and could have one either one. In fact, we blew double-digit leads in both games. However, we finished strong to finish a nine game weekend between school and select.

  • Watertown HAWC Tournament

    • First Game: Oconomowoc vs. Janesville Warriors

In the first game of our HAWC touranment, we faced a very talented Janesville Warriors team. It was close early on, when Ryan Prom and Luke Bakkum both hit 3 pointers. Vince Stocke had 3 free throws as we held onto a 18-17 lead at the half. In the second half we jumped on them, getting out to a big lead. Nate Zastrow had a lot to do with that because he scored 11 of his 13 points in the second half. Vince Stocke and Garrett Stocke both added 4. However, late in the game they worked their way back, but we held on to win 44-38.

    • Second Game: Oconomowoc vs. Glen Ellyn, Il

We came into our second game comfident, and we started hot. Brady Nold was lighting up the floor with 2 outside jumpers and 2 3's in the first half. Sam Loppnow also made a 3 pointer. Garrett Stocke had 8 in the first to lead the charge where we scored 33 in the first half. It was 33-18. In the second half it was no different. Nold finished the game with a team and season high 12 points and Garrett Stocke added 10. We won the game 51-32.

    • Third Game: Oconomowoc vs. Sun Prarie

Our team knew we had our work cut out for us when we faced Sun Prarie. Early on, there were many turnovers, but we still managed to hold on down 13-17 with 6:52 in the first half. Ryan Prom made a three along with a basket and 2 free throws to lead early one. Sam Loppnow also had 5 in the first. We were down 18-24 at halftime. Prom hit another three to cut it to four, but #52 on Sun Prarie hit back to back 3 pointers. We could never hang on after that. Nate Zastrow led the team with 12 points and Ryan Prom had 10. In the closing minutes, Sun Prarie's #52 was just too much, and finished with 28 points. We ended up losing 31-48.

Fourth Game: Oconomowoc vs. La Crosse

For third place, we faced La Crosse. Once again, we got off to a fast start with 3 3 pointers by Alex Lavine, Brady Nold, and Sam Loppnow. However, horrendous free throw shooting allowed them to stay in the game. It was only 19-13 at halftime. In the second half, we got out to another big lead, but midway through, our lead quickly diminished. However we still fought hard to finish it off. Ryan Prom had 2 3's and finished with 10 points. Vince Stocke added five points. We won 33-28 for third place.

Overall we had a good tournament. We won 3 out of 4 games, and only lost to a very good Sun Prarie team. We need to keep up the great playing and continue it through our upcoming tournaments.

  • Mukwanago Tournament

First Game: Oconomowoc vs. Whitefish Bay

We came into the game without Head Coach Wayne Prom, but had a lot of confidence. That was because we had beaten Whitefish Bay 27-18 in our first meeting at WIBL. We started off extremely stron with an assist by Ryan Prom to Nate Zastrow and Garrett Stocke adding 6 in the first half. However, terrible free throw shooting (2-10 20% in first half) allowed them to stay with us. We were only up 12-8 at halftime. In the second half, we fared better at the free throw line (6-10 60%) but game up a lot of baskets. Also, the refs were absolutely terrible. They called an And-1 foul on Sam Loppnow when he put his hands up and stopped as a guy went in for a layoup on a fastbreak. With 2 minutes left in the game, Ryan Prom hit a three pointer that gave us back the lead. However, Whitefish Bay came down and scored to take back the lead. With under a minute left, Garrett Stocke missed a layup due to another bad call by the refs. He was hacked and hit in the head on the play. So with 4 seconds left, Alex Lavine chucked a 3/4 court hailmary off a missed free throw by Whitefish Bay. It was a very disappointing first loss of the tourney.

    • Second Game: Oconomowoc vs. Kettle Moraine

In this game, we had to split up our team because the second half of the game at Center Court was at the same time as this game. So the players who came to this game was Nate Zastrow, Garrett Stocke, Sam Loppnow, Ryan Prom, Alex Lavine, and Adam Shea. We started off pretty slow. Sam Loppnow had 7 points in the first half to lead the way. We ended up leading 19-11 at halftime. In the second half, we turned it on. Nate Zastrow scored in the middle and Ryan Prom lit it up from the outside. Ryan Prom had a season best 16 points and Nate Zastrow added 12 points. Sam Loppnow had a 9 point effort. We won the game in a second half blowout 46-20.

    • Third Game: Oconomowoc vs. Muskego

We came into this game with much confidence. In our Waukesha South tournament, we had beaten this team 41-34. Once again, we started off well, with assists by Alex Lavine and Brady Nold to Sam Loppnow who scored 10 of his 12 in the first half. Brady Nold also had an amazing block. We were up 15-10 at the end of the half. In the second half, the referees started to make some terrible calls. The fouls in the game ended up being 26-7, with us having 26 fouls. Toward the end of the game, the Muskego coach was yelling "FOUL, FOUL, FOUL," but somehow the ref came up with a jump ball when the Muskego players were all over us. With 8 seconds left, #5 on Muskego somehow got open and made a three to take the lead 29-28. It was a heart breaker. We couldn't come back from that. We lost the game 28-30.

This tournament was a heartbreaker. We did not do well in it at all, going 1-2. However, in both the Whitefish Bay game and Muskego, we lost at the end due to terrible things happening to us. It was our first tournament that we lost more than we won this year. We will do much better next time.

  • WIBL Game: Oconomowoc vs. Menomonee Falls

We played Menomonee Falls for the second time in WIBL. The first time we won 49-37. In this game, we had to get to our Mukwanago tournament, so we played half our guys in the first half and half in the second half. In the first half, Ryan Prom had two three's and Sam Loppnow added one. We led 13-2 at the end of the first quarter, and 25-8 at halftime. Nate Zastrow lead the way with 9 in the first. At the end of the half, half the team left, and Brady Nold, Luke Bakkum, Vince Stocke, Mike Schulz, Gavin Liesener, and Dylan Rector stayed to finish it out. Luke Bakkum and Brady Nold hit a three and they finished it off with a 35-28 win.

  • WIBL Game: Oconomowoc vs. Waukesha South

With half of our team there, and half on the way there, we started off the game bad. Luke Bakkum and Gavin Liesener hit a three but that was about it as we found ourselves down 8-19 at halftime. Then Ryan Prom had 3 three pointers and made two free throws to lead the team with 11 points. Luke Bakkum hit another three to finish with 6, and Gavin Liesener had 5. Nate Zastrow was shutout for the first time all season as well fell to defeat 26-42.

We played a makeup game against Sussex Hamilton at Summit. We started off well again coming off to a 12-5 first quarter lead. In the second quarter, Luke Bakkum caught fire and hit two three's. He finised with 9 points off 3 three pointers. Mike Schulz had two layups in the second quarter. By the end of the third quarter, we had extended our lead to 38-27. In the fourth, Ryan Prom and Brady Nold both connected from long range. Nate Zastrow finished with 11, Luke Bakkum with 9, Sam Loppnow and Garrett Stocke had 7, Ryan Prom had 6, and Brady Nold had 5. We won the game 56-34.

  • WIBL Game: Oconomowoc vs. Greenfield

On Thursday, February 22nd, we faced Greenfield. Once again, we started strong early with Nate Zastrow. Ryan Prom hit a three in the second quarter. At halftime, we were up 18-11. Nate Zastrow scored 6 out of his team high 13 points in the third. We won the game 40-17.

  • WIBL Game: Oconomowoc vs. North Hale

We came into this game with high expectations for an easy win. We came out hot, but only had a 6 point lead after 2 threes from Ryan Prom and four points for Luke Bakkum. However, we dominated the second quarter outscroring them 6-0. Gavin Liesener had a great pass to Nate Zastrow for the assist. It was 22-10 at halftime. In the third quarter, Luke Bakkum hit a three and Ryan Prom added another one. Garrett Stocke had 6 of his 10 in the third as well. We had the lead 36-18 at the end of the third. Vince Stocke went 4 for 5 from the line in the fourth quarter and had 6 in the quarter. Garrett Stocke led all scores with 10, followed by Ryan Prom with 9, Nate Zastrow and Vince Stocke with 8, and Luke Bakkum with 7. We won the game 52-28.

  • WIBL Game: Oconomowoc vs. Greenfield

We had played them less then a week before and killed them, so we were very confindent. However, we came out slow and only had a 2 point lead at the end of the first. However, in the second, Adam Shea had an assist to Luke Bakkum and Alex Lavine hit a three as we dominated the second. Lavine finished with 5. We were up 21-11 at halftime. In the third quarter, Nate Zastrow had 7 points and dominated the middle. Sam Loppnow also added 4. As the game was closing, Brady Nold added a three pointer. Nate Zastrow led the team with 11 points, followed by Garrett Stocke with 8 and Sam Loppnow with 6. The final score was Oconomowoc 43, Greenfield 26.

  • WIBL Game: Oconomowoc vs. Waukesha South

Earlier in WIBL, we lost to Waukesha South so we knew it was going to be a tough game. We came out very slow on offense and defense and trailed big at half. However, we picked it up on defense but could never get it going on offense. Also, they made many free throws down the stretch. Nate Zastrow led the team with 13 points in a 28-19 loss.

  • WIBL Game: Oconomowoc vs. Nathan Hale

We expected a very easy game against these guys, even without our starting center Nate Zastrow, and we jumped out to a lead with 2 threes by Luke Bakkum and 1 by Ryan Prom. At the end of the first, we were up 10-4. In the second quarter, Nathan Hale held on and stayed with us.. Alex Lavine made a free throw and a basket and Mike Schulz had an outside shot to help maintain the lead though. By halftime, both teams were frustrated at the numerous bad calls or no calls by the referees. The game was beginning to get out of control. We came out into the third quarter and scored 10 points led by Ryan Prom's three and Adam Shea's points. In the fourth, free throws by Luke Bakkum and Vince Stocke, and a three by Brady Nold let us hold onto the lead. Brady Nold also had a huge rejection as a guy attempted a layup. 1st WIBL Tournament Game: Oconomowoc vs. Brookfield Central

In this 12 vs. 5 matchup, Oconomowoc (12) played Brookfield Central (5). We had beaten this team earlier this year in our first tournament and second game, but this was a completely different circumstance. We came out with a ton of intensity. Ryan Prom hit a three to give Oconomowoc a 3-2 lead, but that turned out to be the last basket of the quarter for Oconomowoc. We were down 3-10 at the end of the first. Though we were down, we maintained our composure and fought hard on defense giving up 0 points. Brady Nold added a jumpshot and Alex Lavine had 2 free throws. At the end of the half, we were down 9-10. In the third, Nate Zastrow added a quick basket to give us an 11-10 lead, our first since 3-2. Then, we had a huge three by Brady Nold that gave us more momentum and extended our lead to 15-12. Once again our defense was superb led by Sam Loppnow, as we gave up 2 points in the third and led 16-12. In the fourth quarter, our lead was quickly cut to 16-15, but we fought hard with 2 baskets and led 20-15 before #22 for the Lancers hit another 3. With about 2 1/2 minutes left, Ryan Prom drove hard off great passing and layed it in with a foul. He made the free throw and Oconomowoc led 27-18. With another three, the lead was back to 6, 27-21. However, they wouldn't go away. With the lead 30-21, Brookfield Central added another three off a turnover and another turnover shortly after gave Central a layup. We were only up by 4, 30-26. However, Vince Stocke made one of two from the line and Ryan Prom made both to seal the deal. We won 33-26. Ryan Prom led scoring with 8, Nate Zastrow with 7, and Brady Nold with 5. This was a huge upset and our defensive intensity played a huge part in this victory.
