My Old bike
First of all, I'll start out by saying...To spite what ANYONE writes, or has to say about a ZX-7...They are one of the best handling, curve stomping bikes I've ever ridden. So don't believe everything you read.
O.K., it all started about four years ago, while looking for a newer ride, (at that point riding a 76 KZ 900 big, gigantic beast), I was searching for just about anything around the price of about $4000.00 or so. All that was available, at that time, were mostly F2's, FZR 600's, and the lot. I found myself driving for two or three hours at a time to go look at someone else's used bike, and coming home empty handed without having found quite what I was looking for. Not to say that F2's aren't good bikes, but just not what I was searching for. When, after nearly giving up, at the end of my 16,000th road trip, I happen to pick up that month's issue of the Cycle Trader and began to thumb through one last time. It went something along the lines of; Yamaha, Yamaha, flip, Katana, Katana, flip, WOW... I had found a 92 ZX-7 with 13,000 miles for only $4000.00. And thought, This bike will be mine...I actually heard bells when I saw the picture. So I traveled down to Savannah, GA...Which is only about two hours from me. The second I turned the last corner to this guys house, he had it outside and had just polished it...I fell in love...then left with it.
Man, would that thing move. And handling? Like no other. I'd got to ride other bikes in the past, just to see how the rode...and that 92 zx-7 was everything I was looking for and more.
If you get a chance. I highly recommend riding one. It may or may not be what you want, but to me, it was. I sold that bike back in '98 and got a 98 zx-7. I haven't looked back since..
