Chapter 7
Tessa slowly made her way down the crowded hallway, filled with shouting and pushing kids. She pushed past a group of lower classmen �Learn how to stand off to the side kids!� she stated not even bothering to look down at them.
She stopped at her locker spinning the combination lock with ease, the metal door popping open like a kernel of over heated corn. �Big mistake eh?� she heard a voice say from behind her. Tessa turned around with an emotionless expression and looked at the owner of the voice.
�Bianca, right?� She asked hitting the aluminum panel, causing a startling bang. Bianca smiled with a light laugh at Tessa�s attempts to make her feel small. �Like wow, your a lot smarter then like everyone says you are!� she said with a mock preppy laugh.
�What is your point of being here?� Tessa asked walking past her, Bianca sticking close behind her like a magnet to a fridge. �There is no point, you aren�t really worth my time, but I just wanted to let you know...� Bianca stated running her fingers over her short black hair smoothing it over, �Greg is to good for you, and I am not going to let you hang around with other guys and break his heart! Got It?� She finished.
�I don�t need to take any of that crap from you! You of anyone, half these people here don�t know who you are! So don�t go telling me what to do! You haven�t even made a name for yourself! At least I am a someone!� Tessa said turning around and bumping into a taller figure.
�Ouch!� she grunted as her butt hit the floor. She looked pushed herself back up with the palms of her hands and looked up at the person she had run into. �Greg!� she said rushing up to him.
�Don�t talk to her like that!� He said. �What?� Tessa asked backing away. �You know what Tessa, we have the project done, okay? So stay out of my life!� he said taking Bianca�s hand.
�Greg! No wait!� she said walking behind him, speeding up as he did, she reached for his hand trying to stop him. �Tessa!� He shouted turning around glaring at her. �Are you stupid?� He said. She looked up at him, her eyes glowing with sadness.
�Your a snob! Do you really think I want anything to do with you?� He yelled angrily. �Greg, you were mistaken!� she said. �Don�t lie to my face Tess, I didn�t miss a beat, your the one who was mistaken!� he said turning around and pulling Bianca after him, Bianca gave a little wave and laughed then turned away.
�Ugh!� Tessa groaned turning away and running to the bathroom. �Out of my way you freak!� She screamed at a girl standing in front of the bathroom door, her face dotted with red smudges and her lips thin and pail, with blonde frizzy hair. �Sorry Tessa!� the girl said scampering off.
She burst through the door in tears looking around to make sure no one was in there. �Tessa?� A girl asked walking out of the back stall. �Huh?� She asked spinning around looking at her through the pools of water in her eyes.
�Um, are you ok?� She asked walking up to her. �Who are you?� Tessa asked turning away. �I�m Alice, you don�t know me, I�m a Freshman, but I�m on the JV Volleyball team, we all know who you are!� She said. �Oh, ok� Tessa responded whipping her nose.
�Are you ok?� She asked resting her hand on Tessa�s back. �Ugh, boys!� Tess gave a light laugh after a series of sniffles. �You have guy problems?� Alice asked her eyes widening. �Doesn�t every girl!� Tessa said kicking the garbage can.
�Well you know, the way you stole Bianca�s man and stuff, I figured you didn�t have many problems!� Alice shrugged. �Well Bianca stole him back, and I didn�t steal him in the first place, she dumped him!� Tess said. �Oh, sorry!� Alice said backing away.
�No Alicia, it�s ok!� Tessa said. �Alice!� Alice corrected. �Right, that�s what I meant, I�m bad with names!� she said with a laugh. �That�s ok, I think I�ll leave you alone now� Alice said running out of the bathroom.
�Great, another rumor started!� Tessa said rolling her eyes. �That wasn�t very nice!� Alice said walking back in. �What?� Tessa asked turning around. �You think I�m a gossip queen, and all I did was want to get to class on time! Just because you know people who you can�t trust doesn�t mean you can�t trust anyone!� Alice said, offended. �Sorry� Tess answered.
�It�s ok, but I�d prefer if you didn�t talk bad about me!� The girl said and then she really left. �Ugh� Tessa groaned and locked the door. �Ahh� She screamed kicking the door to the first bathroom stall. Suddenly she burst into tears, her anger turned into sadness, she fell to the tiled floor in tears. �Why did I let myself fall for him!� she cried.
