| "Are you gonna answer my question or not?" Kara laughed. Justin looked down and turned serious. "You have a choice, Kara. You can either stay with me or stay down here." At that point, Kara didn't see anything complicated or hard in this decision. She obviously wanted to be with Justin. She loved him and that was all that mattered. "I want to stay with you," she answered with a smile. Justin stayed serious. "Are you sure?" One thing came to Kara's mind. It was that question was all people said to her now. If she ever decided one little thing, she would immediately hear that answer. 'Are you sure?' But it being Justin, she didn't feel the need to blow up on it. "Yes, Justin. I want to be with you," she repeated. Justin put his hands on her shoulders. "Kara, I love you with all of me, but I want you to know that there is a lot for you out there." He sighed. "And I'm not the only one who loves you." Kara stayed calm. -All for Justin's sake- she reminded herself. "Why are you saying this? Don't you love me?" she asked. This put a lot of guilt on Justin. He loved her and he did want her to to stay but it wasn't his job to choose for her. Just to show her what her choices were. "I love you Kara, but-" He cut off his sentence. "Come here. Let me show you something." He touched her hand and they suddenly appeared at the carnival that the high school put together a few weeks ago across the town. "What are we doing here?" Kara asked herself. "Remember this place?" Justin asked. Kara didn't say a word. Justin pointed towards the water dunk game station that was lined with giant stuffed animals. "What happened there?" Justin asked. Kara walked over to the tall dark man that everyone was cheering for. He threw the baseballs effortlessly at the target and missed everytime. The history teacher that was sitting about a foot above a huge tub that held around 75 gallons of water was the target. Finally Marc hit the target and the entire crowd erupted in cheers. Kara leaned against Marc's shoulder and smiled broadly. Kara stared blankly at the past event that was so bittersweet. "Marc gave you something, didn't he?" Justin asked. Kara loooked down at her wrist where a thin gold chain that was connected in the center with a small gold piece that was engraved, "Kara Adams." On the back that was pressed against her skin was engraved, "Love forever and always -Marc." "That was memorable wasn't it?" Justin questioned, as plainly as he had all the prior questions. It was hard for him to keep so calm like that, talking about his love's current boyfriend. But he kept his cool. "You can have more times like that, you know that right?" She dropped her hand to the side. "Yeah, but I've already had so many with you." Chapter 9- The End |
