| He turned and his back faced her. "Well, we were gonna go paint-balling on the beach, but then it started raining and the paint smears in the water, so I just thought what would be better than watching a movie about water on a watery day?" He popped the video into the VCR. The first thing that came to Kara's mind was the movie "Waterworld" but she know that wouldn't be it because Marc's points of views were a lot more different and a lot less obvious than most people's. "What are we watching?" Kara asked as Marc's dripping wet body sat next to her. He rested his arm around her shoulders and she got as soaking wet as the couch. "I know you hate sappy movies so I rented Titanic." Kara froze. Old painful memories whispered in her ear. "Like first date memories?" "Kari-berry, catch!" "Who needs you when you have ice cream?" Marc was different, though, than other people who had asked what was wrong. He was the only one, besides Justin, that had thought it'd be best if he gave her some space to chill and time to think. Everyone else had thought they could make everything better. That's why she loved Marc so much. He let her do her own thing. That's also why she loved Justin so much. "No," Kara said motioning him to sit as she stood. "You stay. I'll leave." "Where are you going?" he asked, concerned. "I'm just- I'm just- I'm just gonna take a drive," she replied. "You sure?" She nodded and went to the counter to grab her keys. "I'll be fine," she explained to Marc. "I just need some time to think." He looked at Kara, understandably. Back to Index Chapter 7 |
