Running
Song by: No Doubt

She was finally going to face him. Face him for the first time in a long time. She never thought she could do it. She never thought he was even able to see her. Not after what happened. But he still cared about her. They were playing these foolish games just to tear each other apart. But they loved each other. They were running far away from the madness that haunted their whole life. But that was the problem. They were running away from their problems, they never tried facing them.

Run
Running all the time
Running to the future
With you right by my side

Sometimes she didnt think she could make it. Make it with him, of course. Sometimes, she didnt have that feeling. The warm feeling of being around him and never wanting to let go. The feeling you get when youre in love. She wasnt good enough for his devotion. She didnt need him the way he needed her. He couldnt be there the way that she wanted him to. But she couldnt help it anymore; she couldnt hide it anymore. She didnt love him.

Me I'm the one you chose
Out of all the people
You wanted me the most
I'm so sorry that I'm falling
Help me up lets keep on running
Don't let me fall out of love

She rang the doorbell, adjusting her khaki skirt. He answered, looking better than ever. She smiled, nervously, twisting her curly hair with her fingers.

He smiled, comfortingly, instantly making her feel somewhat at ease. Pulling her into a soothing hug, he broke the silence. "Long time no see, sweetie." He paused, breaking away and staring her in the eye. "I missed you, you know?"

Running, running As fast as we can I really hope you make it (Do you think we'll make it?) We're running Keep holding my hand It's so we don't get separated

She looked over at the wall, not being able to handle his eye contact. He touched her arm, gently. "Listen, Joey," She stuttered, softly. "Maybe this wasnt such a good idea."

Joey laughed, bitterly. "Yeah. Im sure it wasnt." He sighed deeply, putting a hand in his dark brown hair. "Where are we going with this, Megan? Where? Id like to know. Before I waste my whole damn life away and youre still here playing all these dumb games."

Her eyes stared daringly into his. Her heart was aching. She selfishly wanted him, for the satisfying fact that he wouldnt love another. But she knew she couldnt hold onto him any longer. Their grasp was slipping away by the second. He wasnt only slipping, he was dangling.

"I thought you loved me, Meg." He spoke, placing his hand on her cheek. "I thought that we could make it. I really did think we could. I thought our relationship was strong. But I guess I was wrong. The whole thing was wrong." His heart sang a sad melody. She couldnt stand it.

"Dont say that." She whispered, almost inaudibly. "I was meant for you. We were meant for each other," she looked up at him before continuing, "But some things meant to be just dont end up making it." She looked down, selfishly. He wanted it. He wanted it so bad; she didnt. She was afraid, afraid of being alone.

He reached for her hand and locked it with his. "We can make it. I love you." He really believed that? Sometimes he really inspired her to think positively. She really wanted to believe it would last. But what is the truth?

Be
Be the one I need
Be the one I trust most
Don't stop inspiring me
Sometimes it's hard to keep on running
We work so much to keep it going
Don't make me want to give up

She wanted to give up. She didnt want to continue anymore. He was too loving, he was too serious.

"No. We wont make it, Joey. You and I both know that." She removed her hand from his tight grasp. His hand fell unwillingly, and hers for the door. "Ill see you sometime. One day."

She guessed they just ran out of time. Ran out of everything. She fell hard. Fell hard out of love.

Run
Running all the time
Running to the future
With you right by my side
