"Wow! Is that my best friend or a gorgeous super model?" Jamie asked, suprised at her friend's transformation that happened over night.

"Um, yeah. Who else would it be?" Kristy smiled over at Jamie. For the first time in forever, she felt much more prettier than Jamie.

"What on earth are you wearing?" Jamie questioned, slightly concerned.

Kristy adjusted the tiny shirt that stuck to her body, making sure less was popping out. "It's called a halter top. Looks great on me, huh?" She said, fishing for a compliment.

"Sure. Why not?" Jamie hesitated.

"Kristy!" Her sister yelled from across the campus.

Kristy smiled at Jamie. "Eh, I got to go. Family first, right?" She joked, but was almost too serious.

Kristy left Jamie and approached Emily, nervously.

"Hey, beautiful." Emily said, bringing her closer to the crowd. "I'd like to introduce you to a few friends of mine."

Kristy nodded.

"Everyone, this is my sister, Kristy, if you guys didn't know already. Kristy this is," she pointed to each one before saying their names, "Matt, John, Greg, Julie, Amy, and no other than Justin Timberlake."

"I didn't know you had such a hot sister, Em." Justin said. Kristy wasn't sure if he was flirting or not, but it seemed like it.

"Yeah, well maybe if you looked around, you would've noticed her." Emily stated. "Anyways, she's going to the party with me, if you don't mind. I know it was suppose to be kept on the down low, but she's my sister."

Justin nodded, looking at Kristy once more. "I'd love for you to come." He spoke, "We'll make sure to have some fun." He semi-joked.

"Yeah, we will!" Emily said, swinging one arm around Justin. He wrapped his arms around her waist, protectively.

She wanted to cry right there. "You guys," she took a deep breath, "Are together?"

Justin laughed, taking his arms off of Emily. "No, I don't think I could handle a girl like Emily. She's too high maintenance."

"Big word, Justin." Greg joked. "You see, Kristy, Justin isn't used to big words. That word is way out of his vocabulary."

The crowd laughed, and Kristy felt at home.

"I guess I should be proud of you then, Justin." Kristy said, confidently.

"Yeah, you should be proud. Do I get a reward?"

"I don't know. We'll have to see about that."

Justin smiled. "The only reward that would be worth it is walking you to class right now."

Justin tugged at her arm and she allowed him to pull her away from the crowd of friends. "Where do you go?" He asked, casually.

"The A-building." She looked up at his tall figure. "How about you?"

"D-building. I'll walk you anyway."

"That's sweet." She said, shyly.

"So, do you have a homecoming date yet?"

"Not yet." She smiled, brightly. "How about you?"

He rolled his eyes. "Yes, unfortunately."

Her hopes came crashing down.

"Oh, really?" She asked, dejectedly.

"Yeah. I didn't really get to choose or anything. She kind of, well, asked me."

"Did you know her?" Kristy questioned, seriously.

"I've seen her around. I never really got to know her before she asked me, but I guess she liked me or something. I didn't want to be mean or anything and it is just a stupid dance that lasts one night, you know?" Justin asked, sincerely.

"I know exactly how it feels." Kristy smiled. "That's really nice. Who's the lucky girl?"

Justin paused to think for a second. "Her name is... um... I kind of forgot." Justin scratched his head. "I'll remember by lunch. Ask me the question again later."

They heard Kristy's name being yelled again. This time it was Jamie.

"Great." Kristy mumbled, snottily.

Jamie ran up to her before laughing. "You need to hear this joke that Franklin just told me!" She exclaimed, happily.

"I'm kind of busy, Jamie. Maybe next time?"

Jamie looked up at Justin before rolling her eyes at Kristy. "Nevermind, then."

Kristy and Justin both saw the tears in Jamie's eyes. "Don't be mad, Jamie. I'm sure I'll talk to you later on today."

"Or how about not?" Jamie spoke, spitefully.

"You can tell your stupid joke, Jamie. Just don't get mad about dumb things like this."

"Nevermind." She whispered, walking off.

Kristy groaned. "I fucking hate the way she acts like that sometimes." Kristy said, gritting her teeth together.

Justin looked on, sympathetically. "Trouble in paradise?"

Kristy laughed, bitterly. "She's so overly dramatic. Who gives a damn about a joke that Franklin told her."

Justin patted her on the back before hearing the bell ring. "I have to go. I'll talk to you later." He said, pulling her into a quick hug. "Work things out with her." He advised before he left. 1
