Role Models
Role models are disappointments
Loved ones never stay
Living in a world
Where we pretend to look away

Ruining the life
Of the innocent one
Is some people's pleasure
Is some people's fun

Yearning for acceptance
They take on a new role
Searching in wrong places
Never feeling whole

Life is a disaster
For the few that care
They'll find they can't save everyone
The burden's too mich to bear

Watching from the sidelines
Nothing to do but pray
Because role models are disappointments
And loved ones never stay
