MISSION:

L.A.W.S. Publishing's mission is to give an opportunity for underprivileged youth and young adults to publish controversial writing that will enlighten today's troubled society. Backpack

I have a million dollars in my backpack
Although my clothes and shoes do no present that
I run my fingers through my twists
Wondering where my head is at
I doubt myself and I feel off track
My life's mission is to get that back
Give my writing a voice so the world can listen
How difficult is that when haters say my thoughts are wack
Telling me that publishers are going to knock that
Far from fact like
Pulp Fiction
They don't understand my diction
It's not currency in my JanSport that I transport everyday
Like's it's my get-away bag like I ran away
But I pray the contents do find its way
And eventually get my family out the hood someday

I have a million dollars in my backpack
City Streets

I roam the streets of the city where shit ain't pretty
And niggas are so grimy that they're gritty, that's filthy
Used condoms, broken bottle and crack needles lace the streets
And drug money bought the Escalade at the light bumping the latest beats
A young man is on the corner with no shoes on his feet
Trying to feed his homeless family
They have no food to eat
So they can't sleep
Tossing and turning from hunger pains
Just to wake up the next morning under a bridge still living the same
Ain't that a shame and a bitch?
Makes you want to rob the rich and give to the poor
Just to even the score
It's cliche - when life hands you lemons make lemonade
Tell that to the man who got laid off yesterday
Now he's snatching purses from old ladies who can't fight him away
Most can't imagine but this is what I see everyday on city streets
Dark Child

I see a blue streak
In a white sky
Wondering why

Did I do something wrong?
Pulled over
Mind racing
Do you want to see my head hang low?
Bow down to your jursidiction
A victim
Catch the flow of the 21st century
And realize its liberation

Yet, he has me in this system
Is skin color a proxy for criminality?
Are there a variety of traits you look for?
I must fall under every category
