| Chinchillas need to be fed special pellet chow that is formulated for them.There are many different kinds, but not all of them are healthy. Chinchilla chow should be ONLY pellets with out raisins, banana chips or any other kind of treats. Chinchillas like to perch high in the air and can perform amazing spiderman moves on the sides of a wire cage. | My suggestion if you need a chinchilla cage is to check out Martin's Cages in Pennsylvania. This company makes high-quality wire cages for all kinds of animals including chins. They can also custom design the cage of your dreams for a small fee. Their prices are decent and I've never heard anyone complain about them. They ship all over the country by sending the cages unmade and you have to put it together.Fortunatly for us Baltimoreans we are not too far away from where Martin's Cages is located. They are in Columbia, Pennsylvania in Lancaster County. If you go to the warehouse to pick up your order, they will put your cage together beforehand, free of charge. Now how awesome is that? | Hay: Chinchillas need a constant supply of fresh Timothy Hay. Timothy hay is an important part on the chin diet and is a neccessary for a happy and healthy chin! I use Oxbow Timothy Hay for all my little furries--the chinchillas, guinea pigs, and gerbils.
