West Hall Dynasty Sneak by GATAS

After weeks of waiting, basketball season is finally upon us and opening night lived up to the hype.

Tuesday night, West Hall Dynasty came out on the court and defeated the GATAS 36 - 35.  The game seemed in hand early on as a lot of the offensive and defensive series were fueled on adrenaline.  The Dynasty rose to a lead as big as 7 in the first half.  However the game would become close in the late minutes of the second half as the GATAS cut tied the game up thanks to a pair of free-throws with 4:26 left.

"I feel the second half was our bad", responded Forward Brittany Phillips after the game.  "We almost lost it out there".

After a big three by the GATAS gave them the lead, Jeremy Williams, who had previously been struggling to get his offense going, came down the court and answered the GATAS with a three of his own, which brought the crowd to their feet.

A defensive stand on the opposite end of the court, gave the ball back to the Dynasty and they never looked back as they were able to eventually grab the win, although the GATAS made them work for the final 10 seconds in what had to be the longest sequence of events in basketball history.

Notes: Cordale Miller received player of the game awards with a game high 8 rebounds. A majority coming in the second half in critical moments to keep Dynasty possession's alive.
