ANIME HEAD TUTORIAL

Step One: Start with a circle. It doesn't have to be perfect, but if you insist go out and get yourself a compass and then come back ^^. Now the circle is going to be your basic shape for any head you will ever draw in anime. Me personally, I don't even start out with the circle, I'll just go ahead and sketch the head. To me though, it takes experience to do this and you won't always come out on top, so start with the circle :).
Step two. In the circle you have, draw a line down the middle of the circle. This line will determine the space between your eyes or something like that. Now, draw one line kinda in the middle of the circle, but not IN the middle of the circle, and another line near the bottom of the circle. This will be where you sketch the eyes at. Look at the drawing if you have no clue as to what I am talking about ^^;;
Step 3Ok now that we have sketched out the guidelines from step 2, now it is time to add a chin. I can't really explain this so I'll try. On one side draw like a half of a U, but it's like..yeah and then on the other side draw the other half of the U, or better yet draw the U from the sides of the circle. Just look at the drawing ^_^.
Step 4. Ok here's the fun part..well at least I think so. Add the eyes on the guidelines where the eyes belong (see step 2). Now add the nose where you feel it is right. Mine, I put it more than halfway down the face. Add the ears and the mouth and so forth and you have an anime head :D.
Step 5. Yay ok Thought you were finished huh? Last thing. Just erase all of your guide lines and insignificant marks and ink it. I would recommend you ink your drawing with a gel pen, but a regular ball-point pen will work. If you have a drawing tablet (computer based) then you can ink it on there. I wish I had one. Oh well I have my scanner so that's important.
