Pocahontas II Review

(3/5 stars)
In my opinion, I think Pocahontas II is
a little better than the first, history wise.
However, this movie has its flaws, just like all movies. It bugs me how they portray John Smith as “Superman”. The dude never gets hurt! They make him seem like he is invincible and
I hate it when a character seems like he has no flaw. Ratcliffe seems more human than Smith. He has human qualities such as greed and
selfishness and a bit of compassion, but I am still trying to find the
compassion. Pocahontas seems kind of
lame in this movie except when she goes to
As
far as animation goes—it wasn’t all that good either. But hey this movie never made it into the
theatres—so I figure that Disney was on the tightest budget they could possibly
have been on because for one thing there was very little detail such as
shadowing and etc. Mainly just flat
colors were used.
I
think this movie would make an excellent movie for kids to watch on a rainy or
super hot day. Probably appropriate for
kids under 13. It has no kind of sexual
tendencies in it except for the mere boy meets girl boy falls in love with girl
but it stops right there.
The
movie starts off as Pocahontas remembering her friend John Smith who she
believes is dead. She immediately goes
into a song about her feelings for him when she spots a ship coming into
port. She rushes down to the village
where she meets John Rolfe. At first she
is obnoxious and rude to him but she eases up through the movie. Rolfe invites Pocahontas to come with him to
Overall
I give this movie 3 out of 5 stars. The
animation was great but they could have done better. The storyline was understandable but I think
it could have been better. The
characters were excellent and the music was ok.
If you’re ever caught in the rain or just want to rent a movie for
yourself or your kids or little brothers or sisters then I recommend getting
this movie.
