Ash Ketchum:
Ash in the main character in the Pok�mon TV series. Ash is 10 years old. Ash is wild and energetic. His goal is to become the world's greatest Pok�mon trainer and earn the title of "Pok�mon Master".
Ash is given Pikachu in the first TV show by Professor Oak. The television series follows Ash around in his quest to become the greatest Pokemon Trainer.
Ash sometimes isn't the brightest kid you'll ever meet, but he learns from his mistakes, and never lets life get him down.
Pikachu and Ash are best buddies.
Pikachu:
"Pika Pika Pikachu!"
Pikachu was originally given to Ash by Professor Oak. Pikachu is one of the main characters of the Pok�mon TV series and is also Ash's best friend and Pok�mon. Pikachu is an adorable electric-mouse Pok�mon, who loyally defends his friends Ash, Misty, and Brock and stands up for all Pok�mon-kind. Like most Pok�mon, Pikachu communicates by repeating his name over and over with his cute, baby-like voice. Pikachu is constantly pursued by the evil Team Rocket.
Professor Oak:
Professor Oak is a Pok�mon Professor that gives trainers their first Pok�mon. He will also give them a Pok�dex. A Pokedex tells trainers about Pok�mon they see. Professor Oak helps trainers as they travel to become Pok�mon masters.
In the anime, Professor Oak is a combination of a person with high intelligence, and a buffoon. He seems to be becoming more & more a minor character as the show goes on.
Misty:
Misty is a character that ash meets during the second episode. Ash "borrowed" her bike. She loves Water type pokemon. At first she doesn't like Ash. They become friends and travel together. Ash finds out she is a leader at the Cerulean City Gym. Her favorite pok�mon: Staryu, Starmie, Horsea. Least favorite: PSYDUCK!!
Brock:
Brock is love-sick. Any girl he sees is good enough for him. Brock comes from Pewter City, where he used to own a gym. He had to take care of his 10 little brothers and sisters because his parents were gone. Brock's father finnaly came back. Brock then joined Ash and Misty on their journey. Brock's main goal is to be the world's best Pok�mon Breeder. He is very talented with food. Brock left the group to join a lady Professer at her lab.
Team Rocket:
Team Rocket is an international Pok�mon crime syndicate, of which the two most famous (and inept) members are THE Team Rocket, Jessie and James. They're always accompanied by Meowth, the only pok�mon who speaks a human language.
Together with their own pok�mon (Ekans and Koffing, who later evolve into Weezing and Arbok) they travel around stealing pok�mon. At least, that's what they try to do...they never manage to succeed. "Team Rocket's blasting off again!"
Gary:
Gary is Ash's rival, also Professor Oak's grandson. He likes to battle Ash and he's the best Pok�mon trainer. He always has a big cheerleading group with him all the time cheering for him. (That always annoys me!)
But really never seen gary and ash had a proper pok�mon battle.
